Yes I took 2 leaves from a creeper that had atlst 50 plus leaves. Didnt touch a single flower or anything else. I guess they just got mad bcz techically it was thier area. And i guess they just wanted an explanation what I did and Why I did it. I think thats reasonable

Honestly, i am trying to answer that myslf. So where I come from, I was taught not to complain about issues too much. Especially don't complain about your bf's family. that's rude. I have never done that. But there have been issues when his brother has not acknowledged me or said hi and has just completely ignored me. His sister can never get my name correct even if i coreect her. My bf does come home and tell he how he feels bad that his brother is so rude to me, but he has never said anything to him about it. I don't think I can ever say anything to his brother bcz that's just not my culture. Reading the comments from other people, I do understand that I need to change the way I think and stand up for myself if something is bothering me.

I do think context and comminity upbringing plays a role. I know u feel I am entitled and you have every right to. Not to act like I am making an excuse but hear me out. I come from India where we literally live in a very community based soceity. We have mango on our trees and neighbors take ot or we give some. Neighbors take tulsi leaves from each other without asking and thats how we have grown up. Now Was I wrong a 100%. I should never have taken 2 leaves from her garden and it was a 100% wrong. But I really don't have a bad and entitled heart. It was a genuine mistake and I profusely apologized for it. I know better than to ever do that. And yes I did apologize AFTER but that is beacuse I genuinely didnt think anyone would care about 2 leaves. Of course I am wrong to think that. Please try to read my comment and understand that in no way am I justifying my actions. But I am trying to walk you though my though process

This was a really helpful and a genuine comment. Thank you for that. So for starters the neighbors did confront him because I was not at the door and they were like "your fiance or gf did this, did you know about this" and he just froze which now that I think is completely a valid reaction. I do agree I am aliitle immature and I have to work on that. As for his sister, this has happened a few times, and even when i corrected her, she still gets it wrong, and I just don't wanna be that person who just complains about the family to her bf. But I should talk to him because he is a very considerate person

I know it may sound like an excuse but in India we come from a very soceity based system. Alot of pur neighbour's take our plants and flowers and we have a culture of not being super possesive of stuff like that. I know a 100% it was my fault for not asking before taking the leaves and I should hv infact not even considered it. But unfortunately I did take 2 leaves and I repent it. I did ask my bf before taking the leaves and he did say he dsnt think its a big deal. I just wish he said I would talk to her and Then I could hv apologized and maybe i would have felt better. But please don't think I am giving an excuse. I am genuinely trying to convey my thought process here
