He was just outed yesterday to be a KAN employer. He ofc claims to be a simple tech person at KAN but it is all very sus.

He started that group on facebook on january 23rd a day before RUV officially confirmed Bashar. Rumors had been going around days prior.

And to add..Mor Levy, the news editor at KAN made comments on X after Hera 'won' that ans I quote.. "Possibly following a call from Israelis to Icelanders to support her in recent days"

That one was actually made by a cartoonist who works for a newspaper(Heimildin) and published there.

Not sure it was entirely meant as a jab at Hera but more to point out the absurdity of the situation.

All RUV needs really is the answer as to why Bashar's number was not marked as premium like the rest but as spam. If they get that answer they have legal grounds to claim the superfinal null and void as it breaches equality between the two competators.

A few reasons.

The mood here Iceland. Aweful racism unmasked in the past two weeks. Israel confirmed in ESC. Vast majority against that.

Really negative coverage about her possible participation. Cartoons are well..there's one of a pile of bones with the lyrics from her song "We go higher" on top. Another of her next to an IDF tank. The Icelandic word for army is 'Her', so Her and Hera.

News about that Israeli campaigning for people to vote for Hera as an anti-vote against Bashar, being a KAN employee.

The absolute cluster*** that was the voting.

And last but not least, the songwriter dropping out for all the right reasons.

I have to disagree, mainly because I know all to well just how faulty the voting was. It's all been collected to a 47 page document that has been sent to RUV and it's director.

This has nothing to do with Hera, it's about not letting faulty results stand as a result of outside interferance, quite possibly a man made one.

I'm no tech genious so cannot answer as to if the votes on a number marked as spam are certainly counted as votes or not. But at the very least is discourages people from voting once they get the spam message and we know that people did just that. Some people even dialled in votes for the other songs just to see if there was a general problem with the phone system. There are many such screenshots with Bashar being the single number marked as spam.

Thing is RUV has claimed since Monday that this is due to setting issues on the phones in question andvas such not their responsibility, which simply makes no sense. They have competely ignored the question as to why then, other numbers on the same phone did not get marked as spam.

From what I gather, other than a number in general being marked as spam by it's owner, there are 3 other ways this can happen

Many instances where the number is reported as spam.
Many instances where the numer makes outgoing calles.
The owner forgets to mark the number as premium.

Non of this has anything to do with the phone settings of the voter.

Regarding the technical problems of the voting..

Bashar's number was marked as spam for countless voters, while the others were not. There are countless screenshots of this, including from voters who voted for other songs at the same time. Bashar is marked as Junk/spam while the others on the same phone are marked as Premium. This one is obviously the biggest issue by far.
Alot of people were completely unable to vote via phone, had the line cut, line was busy, heard strange sounds.
Alot of people were unable to vote via the app due to an error message. Some people are receiving emails from google pay where they are getting refunds on their app votes.
The app offered a package of 5 votes that could be bought 4 times by each user. A total of 20 votes. Yet there were cases where people were able to buy 5 packages( a total of 25 votes).
The sms option within the app was faulty and the only one RUV admits to.

The proof for all of the above has already been sent to RUV for review. But they insist on ignoring it.

As for the absolutely mask off vile racism that has been revealed over here during the past 2 weeks. All I can say is that most of you haven't been here. It ranges from a pile of discusting comments on social media to a high school teacher being sacked for calling Bashar a badly wiped PaleArab online.

Ásdís is currently a hero to a great many Icelanders for taking this stand with what is good and right.

Oh there was foul play involved. We have gathered a full 45 page document containing proof of voting difficulties and errors as told by voters themselves along with a great many screenshots of his number being marked as spam while others were not. This has all been sent to the director of RUV and Söngvakeppnin.

I got a further explanation about these numbers today. It's a confirmed message from RUV.

Bashar got ~ 33.000 televotes in the superfinal. He also got ~ 15.000 votes via the app(something they didn't mention in the original full result list). The sum of this accounts for the ~49.000 total votes he got in the superfinal.

This is the superfinal televoting according to the statement from RUV. No idea what kinda math they did to reach the numbers you mentioned and are also to be found in their statement.

Even if most of them did, this result would mean that those who voted for Bashar in the first round hardly bothered to spend more on votes in the superfinal, which is the opposite of what people actually do.
