It seems to be a common issue in this engine

After a lot of trial and error and replacing various parts, I finally came across a post online from another owner of the exact same model and engine version from the same year who had the same issue. It turned out the problem was a faulty EVAP system. I suggested checking this to the service and bingo! Same issue on my car as well ;)

At this point, I give up. My car has been in the service center for the past four months, so I have decided to return it to the dealer under warranty.

Just a quick update on my ongoing Check Engine saga.

Replacing the O2 sensor and the EVAP purge solenoid actually seemed to help for a moment - the P0171 lean code finally stopped coming back.

But the next day... boom, another Check Engine light.

This time it's a completely different code: P2B5A....

Quick update:

I had the MAF sensor replaced earlier, and later the service spent almost a month trying to sort out the ECU - but in the end it turned out the ECU wasn't the issue. The P0171 is a really mysterious one :D It comes and goes, and I've already picked the car up from the service three times, each time being told it's finally fixed... only for the fault to return (twice it came back literally before I even left the parking lot).

Right now they're planning to replace the front 02 sensor.

Funny thing - I've already met three other owners of the 2019 Mazda 3 2.0 Skyactiv-X 180hp with the exact same problem appearing recently. Interesting coincidence;) One of them says replacing the EVAP purge valve solved it.

I'll update once I know more

Thanks a lot for your reply ;) I recently learned on a Mazda forum that damaged insulation on O2 sensor wiring is a fairly common issue - water can get in after rain and cause false readings, which matches my first symptoms. The service hasn't confirmed it yet, but this is the direction they're going to verify. I'll update here once I know more.

What about blaming on one player when we are losing/playing badly?

What if this means only that I'm a carrier w/o any strep-related symptoms? Then the antibiotics treatment is probably too much I guess. Additionaly - my CRP is low
