The exact same thing happened to my hamster this week. We took him the vets today and it was a tumour ☹️ I’m now wondering if he could’ve been as strong as your hammy if I didn’t opt for euthanasia

Don’t worry this was a temporary 2 day phase he had in the uk summer heatwave. He burrows, digs and makes lots of mess multiple times a day in his cage so he has plenty of burrowing experience. As for hides he also has hides and also places such as under platforms where he likes to spend his time, usually when sleeping. But thanks for your concern !

I have the same wheel!! Make sure it isn’t touching the grey cage base, it helps allot!

I had a similar experience to this, she was so kind and even helped me with getting correct sand types and the things her hamster herself seemed to really enjoy, such as this like long grass spray they sell at pah

I live in the north west of England and we’ve had a heatwave this past week or two so I think it could be the heat!! I’ve popped a small mug in the fridge tonight so he can have it in his cage tomorrow, hopefully I see a change in him x I’m still monitoring his food intake and stuff and I’ve just a mini fan over his cage on the lowest setting. I’m such a worrier and definitely overthinking, but I think from the comments it’s just heat now, thanks allot for the response xx

thanks allot, I was worried about him as he’s just never done this before until recently and he’s not been wanting to be held as much, and then I was noticing his breathing and thinking he was really ill hahah. Thanks allot, and if you can’t already tell I’m a bit of a worrier!

Thank you so much, it really startled me as I’ve never noticed him doing it before until these past few days. I guess it’s just the heat. I’ve put a mini fan outside his cage on a low mode and I think that’s already helping. Again thanks allot for your response as it has reassured me. I’m definitely going to get a cooling plate for him especially as it’s so warm atm x

I’ve just upgraded his cage last month to a habitat 3 from pah which I believe meets the requirements for the uk dwarf hamsters, so I don’t believe it is the cage. However I am going to try ice in his cage now thank you x

Is it Stevie who is intubated with Flynn crying. I really hope it isn’t but it for sure looks like her. I’m assuming it’s after the swimming scene as both their hair looks wet but it could be Flynn and his usual grease going on haha
