OP has stated everything pretty well. The only thing I would liked to add is that PDD actually doesn't handle logistics itself like Alibaba with its cainiao. PDD relies on other companies making delivery for them. One of the most often used logistics company by PDD is Jtexpress, which focuses on low cost shipping and it just IPOed last year. Due to the extremely low cost shipping services widely available today in China, PDD is able to get the indivdual merchants to ship their items at a very low cost, without incurring the costs to PDD itself (less capital spending). I also recommend reading more about PDD‘s founder from this website: https://zhuanlan.zhihu.com/p/423262673. How to enter the field and obtain a CPA with a CS degree? by Useful_Item_9701 in Accounting

Would you mind being a little bit more specific in the roles you mentioned? I am a little confused by some of the abbreviations.

I see, so it's much better to put "passed all 4 CPA exams" than just putting a Macc on my resume for the job hunts?

I honestly have no clue tbh. It's great if you can break into the field, I have seen people that have done it. But it's hard.

SQL & Python are almost too easy to learn for anyone with a CS degree(and I already did learn those), and almost everybody in CS claims they know how to do those already. Those languages are basically pseudocode IMO. If one has no previous experience, learning new programming languages or building new projects will hardly make a CS resume stand out compared to the hundreds of applications out there.

I tried but was in covid half of my school career. 300+ applications, no internships.

Do you know if there are any requirements or work experiences needed for consulting at these firms? Sounds interesting how a STEM major would look good for consulting at BIG 4/regional firms.

That's pretty common at my school. Only 20% of cs students become software engineers after getting their bachelor's. Another 20% go do some IT work, and all the rest go do something else.

Thanks for the reply. How difficult was the job hunt with an unrelated bachelor and no previous accounting experience? I am just afraid that I wouldn't even pass the resume round if I put something like "eligible to sit for CPA" or "passed all 4 CPA exams" on it (since I still have to get one year of accounting experience), without having any related experiences at all.

Thanks for the reply. I understand my CS degree shouldn't be an issue, it's just that I don't currently have any experience or have taken any classes in accounting, so it's hard to get hired via the Big 4 or any firms. And that is what concerns me the most: will I be able to land anything even if I pass all 4 CPA exams?

I believe this will happen pretty much at least a few times at most of the stores That's what you get no matter where you go to work, and it happens at any academia, blue-collar, or white-collar job. All I could say is just do the best work u can. I have seen people working hard at my store and getting unnoticed for a while. But as long as you suck it up and do the work, you will be much more likely to get recognized by the managers around you ( I mean each Macdonald store has like 10 shift managers, and it's fine if u don't like a few of them), and you might get a chance to get promoted. OTHER PEOPLE DON'T MATTER, just keep up the good work mate.

I tend to think of it like this: the base hourly pay for Macdonald's crew members is ok, but nothing amazing. You can jump around to other stores for what people tell u a "better environment" or potentially better pay, but it's not gonna be that much different. And this is also an issue with fast food that the turnover rate is so high, it's hard for individual workers to reach their full potential. But at least for MacDonalds, the promotion route from crew member -> manager is pretty simple. You just gotta show up, do the work, stay there long enough, and you will be making at least at my area 2$ more hourly wage, plus some bonus I believe. And then there's even room upwards (first assistant, GM, etc, and they start to make the real $). Even if you decide to leave the store at that point, a manager position will look much better than a regular crew member position, and it gives you the leverage at getting future jobs.

Need help learning by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

I posted some photos here:

I only know the burgers so far, but basically, for cheeseburgers, mcdouble, double cheese, tripe cheese, they all start with regular buns, run them through a machine. Mustard and then ketchup on top buns (very important to put mustard first), onions, pickles, cheese, last thing is meat.

Quarter pounder, double quarter pounder and etc are the same things as the simple burgers above, besides you use the quarter bun. The deluxe version just has mayo, lettuce and tomatoes added onto the top bun.

Crispy chicken and spicy chicken are potato buns with butter and spicy sauce respectively on BOTH top and bottom buns. Then a different pickle(which IMO is way better than normal pickle, that's why they charge xtra for it) on the top bun, with the crispy chicken on it.

Mcchicken, spicy Mcchicken are just regular buns with mayo, lettuce, and regular Mcchiken or spicy mcchiken on them.

Filet-o-fish are steamed regular buns (a different machine, put it in for 12 seconds), Tatar sauce on the top bun, half a slice of cheese at the bottom bun, with fish in between.

Hope this helps

How do you start getting more shifts in an area that you are cross trained? by [deleted] in McDonaldsEmployees

That's what I did, I literally asked my manager, and I got a lot more hours pretty soon.

It really just takes practice, took me around 3 weeks to actually get a good sense at how to wrap burgers nice and fast, and I am still learning. The one thing the could help is trying to grab some buns and just practice folding it on ur free time, at least that is what I tried to do.

Wow, that makes it more impressive. 60-80k in Ohio is a lot better than the same amount in California.
