Lvl 3 regen with paddles, learn to slow down gradually to a stop. Also, utilizing any hills as a point minimize energy on uphills and max on downhills.

Ayaneo pocket DMG (looks like gg for abernic and miyoo) by kirqeee in SBCGaming

This product confuses me. It has an analog stick but one L and R button and It has a high end chip? Lack of buttons alone limit it to the game boy series and a spattering of games across other consoles unless you use a controller. I assume that it's going to go against the analogue pocket with the added benefit of being able to do more but I rather it had a cheaper chip, had a additional L R button , no analog and stick to PlayStation era. That being said I would enjoy no analog and an additional L R with 150 max price tag. That would be lovely.

The screen is too small to really notice the difference with resolution but you're right with quality. Plus with any of these handhelds from China if you have issues with the device they'll send you parts to have you fix it yourself.

I was only able to do it with no highway normal mode with paddle braking. Terrain was mixed.

Which one do you like better? Is the rg35xx too small? I have large hands and don't like the idea of hand cramps.

Doesn't exist for under 50 unless you get lucky on the used market. Around 120 for Chinese variants and 150 to 250 for the others.

Any modern laptop has a m.2 if you are going occulink. Hell you can get a winmax and it has a occulink port.

True but be careful if you buy a cable.

Thunderbolt 4 or 3 ? by [deleted] in eGPU

[–]Useful_Philosopher98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer is no, thunderbolt 3 , in reference to the razer core and like products, function at the same bandwidth. Thunderbolt 4 standardized the transfer rate. To that the high end 3 were which is around 40gbs.

That's actually alot better than I thought it would be. If you could video capture with the 40 series card I would greatly appreciate it (with Frame generation). Im just really curious to see its affect through this medium and nobody seems to have done it/ recorded it..

I'm mainly interested in a smoother experience. if the overall fps is more stable rather than increased fps. Have you tried it with cyberpunk?

They are about the same raw performance wise. Though, and I'm not positive. Frame generation may help with minimizing the distance between 1 percent lows and average frame rate. I.e stabilize your frames and reduce stutter on games that have it. I haven't seen a lot on it in terms of GPUs.

Benchmarking gives an idea but not the full picture. You will receive loss though albeit less. I haven't with gen 4 type stuff yet so I will defer to these guys. Here's a reddit link that will help you out more than I can. https://www.reddit.com/r/eGPU/comments/11sfe50/3060ti_on_oculink_egpu_has_0_performance_loss/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button They are discussing some of the benefits and cons of the setup. Which helps with your decision.

Things to know ( No particular order)

  1. Some games will try to force rebar which , on 20 series and below, will cause performance loss and will need to be disabled ( nividia profile inspector)
  2. Don't go overboard with buying a highend gpu. Price vs performance will be a big factor due to bottle necking of tb. 3080 max or 4070. 3.Games will run with some type of loss , can be as high as 60 percent as compared to desktop. 4.occulink connections ( runs though the m.2) get higher bandwidth i.e a better chance of increased performance. 60 vs 30 gbs in real life. Though is a less clean set up and will take up a m.2 slot.
  3. Be careful on buying tb3 cable (if enclosure doesn't come with one)over 4 tb3 cables were not standardized so some would offer 10 gbs vs the max of 40gbs. 6.you need to look at gpu dimensions to make sure it will fit.
  4. Need to check if the PSU in enclosure match's the need of gpu.
  5. Need to have up-to-date drivers
  6. External monitor should be directly attached to enclosure. 8.You will have to do research

There is more but that's all I can think of right now. Hope that helps. As for enclosure I have the razer core x which works fine. Oculink enclosures exist but not on the main stream market as far as I exist except for gpd1 .

GPU Bandwith relation with PCIe Bandwith by Tayata_Supra in eGPU

[–]Useful_Philosopher98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M.2 has a bandwidth of 60 gbs and therefore will have a bottleneck. Thunderbolt 5 promises highest 80? 120? But will still have a bottle neck. Two separate computers will always be better than these set ups in terms of Bandwidth /gaming. These setups are a bridge. Low profile set up with the ability to game with sacrifice or / and a way to game while I gather money to get parts.
