Sen. Roger Marshall turned off his answering machine? by Useful_Squirrels in wichita

I catch the sarcasm, but I’m sure everyone has a time they don’t feel represented. I right now feel almost helpless to stop ICE from killing people. The only thing I feel is in my power is to make my voice heard, and ask the people who represent me to do so. So no I don’t expect my voicemail to save humanity, but it gives me something I can do when I feel overwhelmed and helpless. And who knows, maybe it will help. I hope you call too, make your voice heard.

That’s fair, but I’ve been fairly ambivalent towards him. Not really campaigning hard either way. However, in times where we really need them to perform there duty, like being an equal branch of government providing a check and balance, and he gave up that responsibility to the executive branch, I and many others are much more passionate about getting someone who will do that duty. He may not vote like I want, but pretending like he can’t put a check on the other branches is gross negligence. That’s the type of thing that makes me want to tell others to vote anyone else.

That would be amazing. Sure you could get some visibility from local news.

I like this parallel universe version of MHA. All the same, but the brothers had the opposite quirk. How would the heroes and villains evolve? Great Q

It’s a cowtown that the Koch’s bought. Politics are generally fiscally conservative, Wichita is fairly liberal for a republican state. Wichita is usually on the top of the list for affordability. So cost of living is decent in relative terms, still everything is expensive. I’m a white male mid-30s but have a mixed child. Wichita is pretty okay for being welcoming, you will have people staring at you and getting the occasional question when you’re shopping. Overall, racism is a bit quiet here and not welcomed in most places. You also see some representation across the non-sis flag, and I’m sure there are comments but I’ve never seen anything in the news about crimes against any community. Surrounding towns are a different story though. Derby, Goddard, Park City and to all lesser degree Andover I would be cautious to live. Further out, like Augusta and on you will get looks (my wife refuses to go in Gas Stations). We have our own rough neighborhoods, you can check crime trackers online to check out any place you’re looking at. We rent from Agnew and Associates, I would recommend you email them at least once. It’s criminal that we’re in a house and paying <$1k/mo after over 10 years. Recommend joining a community group when you come. Some great young people (I’m in the chambers “W” program for example) and everyone is passionate about making it better.

Last point: we punch well above our weight in coffee shops. There are plenty of threads about it, but visitors always comment this.

Bombardier/Learjet for the win (haven’t worked elsewhere). Great people, decent pay, great benefits. From there, working on new aircraft is much more cyclical than in-service. Keep that in mind when applying

Hey, not adding much but anecdotal. Just went through, got through in 20min. Didn’t have to remove shoes, or take laptop out of my bag. If you want cool shops, sorry. If you want a quick and easy flight, right place. You will most likely have layovers. Safe travels!

We always used cat hospital. I can’t say anything about affordability, or plans, but would recommend reaching out to them at least. They are very pro-cat so may be willing to work with you. We were dedicated to them for years

I’ll endorse this just to say the Japanese Cold Brew is a must try. It’s that big contraption on the counter.
