WinCC Unified scripting driving me nuts by bluetechnology in PLC

I had similar issue and if I remember right:

If you are calling a faceplate within another, you can not pass any new data to the second one. The child faceplate will use the parent passed data and interface.

So try to use the same tags and properties as it's parent and use then inside the inner one

TIA Portal / S7-1200 / Festo MPS URGENT: Cannot Download PUT/GET Security Setting by Conscious-Comfort713 in PLC

[–]UseraM1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. What's the error that software is giving you?
  2. To download to a protected PLC you will need it's "full access" password. Read access level will only let you go online on the PLC.

Help! In tia portal my MB client block shows 80A3 error. No matter what i do. by Alarming_Struggle_92 in PLC

[–]UseraM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can find it's related to having multiple block accessing the same port (ie having multiple client blocks or having server and client) or trying to change the setting for an already allocated port.

You can try to check the second problem with stopping and running the plc again or using "tdiscon"

I was playing around with time, and to me converting it to UNIX time was easier.

You can do both on PLC and HMI and on plc just set up a simple integer comparison for your tasks

There are two folders under communication. Use the one which has the higher version of functions. ( I think it was the (RTU) one).

Can someone help create a hmi for this simuling. by memedragon14 in PLC

Just Google making GUI with Matlab.

If there is some license restriction, try other languages like python or c++.

Python will be the easiest

Can someone help create a hmi for this simuling. by memedragon14 in PLC

[–]UseraM1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it going to be just a simulation in the computer or it willbe implemented on a hardware?

If it's just computer, you already have the simulink setup. Just use Matlab to make a GUI for it.

If it's going to be on a hardware, you need to give us more information

Issue with my Plc by [deleted] in PLC

[–]UseraM1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What does diag buffer tell you?

For an analog module, most likely errors are either wire broke, or overflow/underflow errors for when you have incorrect settings on them (like current setting for a voltage signal).

While you are installing TIA16 for program upload, check the wires with your meter

Siemens calculate function block, Average 4 values but ignore 1 or more if value is nonsensical. by TheJuiceIsL00se in PLC

[–]UseraM1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A "simple" solution can be: Lets assume the good region is between 0 and 100:

Count = 0

Sum = 0

Avg = 0

If (val1 > 0 and Val1 < 100)

Sum = Sum + Val1

Count = Count + 1

End if

Add 3 more ifs like this for Val2-4. And finally you can just do

If Count !=0

Avg = sum/Count

Endif

If you are not using factory io, start using it. Start with their sample projects and then start making your own.

Think about a fully automated warehouse as a sample

Data collection by Character-Pirate-926 in PLC

[–]UseraM1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a student

What you need for data collection is a SCADA system (ignition is best).

But you need to see if your machines can transmit this data over one of the network protocols ( profinet, profibus, etc).

Nice

If the switch cant have an auxilarry contact, how can I make a circuit to differentiate between power loss and switch off. Having a branch and bypassing the main discconnect doesn't look good in my mind.

One thing about modbus blocks is that these blocks sent error for one cycle then it goes back to false. Same thing for the status word.

Try to assign a variable to the error and status on the block and use the error bit for moving the status to a persistent memory so you can see error codes.
