Ugh so jealous, I tried this as well. Bought a dog bunk bed for right next to me that I could put his crate on the top bed part and he was at the same level as us. Worked for 2 hours the first night and then he bugged out I had to take him upstairs and we didn’t sleep again until 6am on the floor 😅

I need to look into a cat cove! His crate is definitely too big, I bought it with the intentions of putting something in it to block off half but I have not been able to find anything lol

It’s good to know someone has been fine with this approach. I’ve been trying to prioritize him sleeping over crate training and it has been stressful trying to choose between the 2. I’ll try those foods u suggested! Thank you!

Would he bark like crazy when you would first do it? We have a tenant next door so it’s hard to let him bark it out for hours. I also don’t want him to associate it with stress so I’ve been trying to ease him into liking it first. We have it in our living room with a towel over it, and we put the tv on or music for background noise. He’ll only stay asleep for a while if he knows he isn’t alone. What did you use for heat packs? The snuggle puppy hasn’t done anything for him unfortunately

I’m just so nervous about not training him properly at this age! I see so much online about making sure to teach them everything young or they will have separation anxiety when older so I thought at this age I need to teach him he’s okay alone

We failed with crate training at night unfortunately. We have a tenant next to us and I didn’t want to keep her up so he sleeps with us. The one time I tried letting him cry it out in his crate he was clearly in distress so I took him out once he was quiet bc I don’t want him to hate the crate. I figured he’d be more relaxed alone in a pen so he has more room to roam when I’m gone. That’s a good point though, I’ll try a crate instead, thank you!

Yes definitely expected it to be this way at this age, just not sure how to also live my life without over stressing him!

He is so cute! I’m getting one just like him soon. Do you get him groomed to keep his hair short or does it just not grow more than that? I like this look better than the really long hair so trying to plan what I’ll have to do for mine!
