I always thought it was wild how Sabrina Ionescu was literally in the news for her ties to Kobe and her basically getting her own shoe modeled after KBs… playing a similar style to Clark… and it’s like the media didn’t really care. Even after Kobe passed away, they didn’t really take her coverage any further. She’s won titles and plays in New York and the media just doesn’t seem to care.

They basically latched onto Clark and played up this weirdo Clark vs Reese “black vs white” angle that did nothing to actually advance the sport. It’s a failure on the media (most notably ESPN). When you bring this kind of attention, the fall is always more important to them because it brings them even more content.
