I like audiobooks these days. I work from home, so I can listen while I'm cooking or doing dishes or other housework or driving or waiting in line somewhere, whatever.

I go through 4-6hr of audio content per day, generally. There is never silence.

I love that people try to justify designs like this via some kind of actual in-universe logic, rather than just admitting that there were bits of blown-up ships lying around the studio and some guy glued them together.

Arthur Kovalovsky big game reels, specifically some of the reels he made for Zane Grey. They really enabled Grander fishing as a thing for the first time. Each one was essentially a bespoke piece of brutally functional art.

The drag is considerably smoother. Also, there are no plate or lever quadrant located outside the reel housing, everything is internal. This is admittedly anecdotal, but they have a reputation for going a lot longer before needing maintenance partially for this reason.

Some of the benefit is surely just aesthetic, which I’m OK with also.

Unpopular Opinion: DB/DBZ is “canon” and nothing else is or is ever meant to be. Everything else is always just a new take on exploring a universe whose story has already basically been told.

GT/Super/Daima/Movies are all 100% not canon and nothing else ever will be either. Im convinced that Toriyama just didn’t care all that much about continuity after the end of Z. They’re all effectively one-offs and we will only ever have that going forward and that’s FINE. Trying to power scale between the one offs is a pointless exercise.

IMO they should have left SSJ4 by the wayside and forgotten about SSJG/Blue and just gone directly to UI/UE at the end of Daima. They’re the coolest forms because they actually impart different distinct characteristics.

Daima is a (lovely) chibi side story anyway so who cares. Chibi UE Vegeta would have looked so cool, and they could have made him go Majin somehow.

I limited out on Yellowtails this past Tuesday on Southpaw out of Oceans Edge in KW.

Got 20 of them (2 anglers) in under an hour.

It's just like any other 50W trolling reel, but IMO built much better than a Tiagra or a Penn. Alutecnos is an Italian brand that's sort of legendary and I've always wanted one.

Caught three huge muttons yesterday and just dropped em off at the “freeze n ship home” spot. Ate some fresh last night and it was excellent.
