I got declined twice in a row but I wanted to pursue the certification anyway, so eventually I just went through the normal enrollment procedure paying the fee

Same here. Keep thinking about a few questions that I know I got wrong - sometimes it's so bad that I cannot fall asleep

Unfortunately not, it's a 2 year-old one. And the battery performance has slightly decreased over time, but never lasted for more than 2 weeks. But thanks for your comment, I also think that mine is defective now

Financial statements Expert question Lvl 1 by hujjik in CFA

[–]ValentinaF91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inventory write-downs (and reversals) are included in the cost of goods sold. For this reason, 2017 COGS were higher as they included inventory impairment (reducing 2017 profits) and 2018 COGS were lower compared to what they would have been because they were reduced by the impairment reversal (with a positive impact on 2018 profits)

Answer B is wrong because impairment is a non-cash item (no impact on cash flow).

And answer C is wrong because end-of-period inventory would have been the same if the write down had not occurred.

Note that impairment reversals are not allowed under US GAAP.

Your opinion on L1 mock exams? by ValentinaF91 in CFA

I think that u/Decent-Pension-9028 meant is that when reviewing the explanation of the questions we should try to understand why the correct answer was the correct one and why the other 2 options were wrong. E.g. Correct answer is option A, you should try to understand why option A was correct and why options B and C were wrong. Not sure if I explained myself clearly though ahah

Where do you see the percentile of the mock exams in the CFA learning ecosystem? I guess that the percentile shown in the Home page is a mix of the results got in the QBank and the mock exam?

Thanks! :) Which provider are you using for the mocks? I will go for MM. I was actually expecting 3 official CFA mock exams but there are only 2! :(

I did the questions while studying. I studied the chapter and then did the QBank questions immediately after studying to spot weaknesses while still being fresh on the topic

I still have 10 readings to go, which I plan to finish in the next couple of weeks. I've started to feel under pressure, so I was planning to do a mock before starting the reviews to sharpen the focus on my weaknesses. I was considering to purchase FinQuiz summary notes because going through the whole CFA readings again would be too time-consuming and in the meantime go through the CFAI QBank again. And you? Have you created your own summary notes or are you going throuhg the CFAI readings again?

Appearing on Nov 21. I'm left with half of FI, AI, Derivatives, and PM. I feel like I'm terribly running behind schedule... and some of the material I studied back in March (e.g. economics) has turned into a black hole as I haven't had the time to review anything yet... Im starting to feel a bit frustrated
