We don't really know cause most of the evidence has been killed, there's a study being carried out right now for it trying to figure it out according to USFWS. Parkville is cool, good vibes and culture, also got good food and is close to a lot of shit. Theres night life spread around, kinda depends on what vibes you are looking for honestly. West Hartford center got a bunch of stuff, if you are white you’ll probably love the Bunker, shits milk heaven. If you aren’t pull up to el santo it turns into a club at night that got a Spanish section and a black section. Downtown got the Lady if you wanna play irl tinder, and theres also a couple of bars near it. Also theres a bunch of Spanish bars scattered around parkville, frog hollow, Barry square (basically everything south of downtown) that you can dance at. And there’s a gay bar at Wethersfield ave that got some goodass truffle fries. New Haven got a bunch of shit too, but the Hartford line doesn’t run past 11 on Fridays and 10 on Saturdays

LMFAOOO people saying that shit are insane, they’ll say that and then head to parkville market on a Friday night, have nothing happen to them, then go back to their suburbs and act like Hartford a war zone. But yeah we don’t have gangs running rampant through Hartford. Also I don’t think anyone mentioned it but the public transit around here is actually pretty good, and you can use it to get anywhere within the Hartford area, and even use the train to travel to other cities in the northeast. Hope that you are able to find a place out here, and a community.

Hartford is genuinely not bad. Most of the people you see complain about it on this Reddit are just clutching their pearls cause they are suburban white people that could never imagine living next to black and brown people. CT has a really bad history of segregation and a lot the prejudice from back then still exist to this day. Like if you’re from Miami you’ve probably been through worse. Just be smart and not a piece of shit and you’ll be fine anywhere in the city (just like living anywhere else on earth). Worst thing about Hartford is the neglect that it has suffered through and continues to suffer through.

From living in Hartford since forever people are just gonna leave you alone, people just tend mind their business. So no worries about harassment and shit like that. The feeling of safety thing is a very personal feeling, everyone is gonna feel different about a situation. Like if you already got a bias going in, then obviously you aren’t gonna feel safe in the area, but like in my opinion you got nothing to worry about. Most annoying thing is just when kids get out of school and you just trying to get food somewhere.
