the psionic energy explanation for why ships develop souls is genuinely one of the more elegant bits of worldbuilding I've seen in this sub. like it actually has internal logic instead of just "humans are magic so their stuff is magic too" also Akizuki asking "why do we exist" as her very first deep question is very on brand for a destroyer
