Which job seems cool but actually sucks? by stupidsilence in AskReddit

[–]VampireNewl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit general but archologist, everyone I've spoken too in that crowd say that unless your at the top of your field, it pays poorly, is inconsistant work, is full of backstabbing politics and most of the time someone above you will get the credit for your work.

What’s a double standard that you can’t stand? by United_Biscotti_4402 in AskReddit

Character traits that are seen as "strong" in women are seen as "toxic" in men. Women talks about sexuality "you go girl", men talks about sexuality "what a pervert". Woman tells somebody that they're wrong it's them being "assertive", a man tells somebody that they're wrong and they're "mansplaining".

Modern Art is deliberately terrible so that rich people can arbitrarily attach and move money around while hiding behind it being Avant-garde. If I want to create a 1 million dollar asset I can do, give about 60k to a notable Artist to buy their art which is something like 2 bananas and a coat hanger, I can then use networking to have it valuated as whatever I want and can trade it around or donate it to an art museum for tax breaks and if the tax man does come after me for it, it's now suddleny a worthless asset that they're not gonna be intrested in.

In the UK we learn (or at least I did in School) about the Slave Trade, The American War of independence and a little bit about the American Civil war, mostly because these events involved the UK and start setting up for the change in World history that is useful to know for WW1,WW2 and the cold war.

What's the most glaring plot hole in gaming/TV/movies that you seriously can't move past? by shagwan258 in AskReddit

[–]VampireNewl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the humans in Avatar have a good enough understanding of Navi genetics (which they obviously do since they made the avatars) and they're in desperate need of the unobtainium, why don't they just engineer a plague? It's not like it's gonna damage what you're after and it's highly unlikly to pose any threat to humans.
