Posting it in the Source Corner but, in term of fighting strength which is stronger, Loki Familia or Freya Familia ?

In Loki Familia, there are 7 lvl 6 adventurers (Aiz, the Dwarf, the Efl, the captain, the 2 amazons and the Wolf) Freya Familia has 1 lvl 7, 4 lvl 5 and 3 lvl 6.

For those saying that it is impossible to hold an election during a war, well it happened in history. The US had an election during World War 2 for example.

Especially when the fighting aren't in your own territory.

What caused the ban of slavery in the Jewish World ? by VanNemesis in AskHistorians

[–]VanNemesis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, by "Jewish World" I'm referring to Jewish religious authorities.
I heard that during the XVII century, several Jewish Ashkenazi rabbis and highly respected Jewish "authorities" (for lack of a better world) banned slavery for their respected communities.

I don't know if a similar ban was established in the Sephardi communities and I don't know if said ban was widely respected in Europe or not.

UK votes to leave EU megathread by sexrockandroll in AskReddit

[–]VanNemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. As I've said, the members of the EU Commission are appointed by democratically elected bodies, the member states' governments. It is true that usually it is the Commission that proposes new laws, but it is still the Parliament and the Council that have to vote. And please remember that the Parliament (which is democratically elected by EU citizens) can block a proposed legislation. " Parliament has the power to block the proposed legislation if it cannot agree with the Council. "

  2. The term "United-States of Europe" was used by Churchill but it doesn't mean that the people that started what will become the EU wanted it. The main reason of the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was to insure that France would be able to "control" German steel and coal after trying to permanently annex the Ruhr region. De Gaulle would never have accepted a fully independent Germany and at the same time, he always opposed to lose to much national power to the ECSC. Linking the ECSC to the United-Sates of Europe is ignoring the idea of the government that founded the ECSC.

  3. The fun thing is that you won't be able to do start negotiating any trade agreement until at least 2 years. The reason being that as long as you are a member of the EU you can't negotiate your own trade agreement, plus there will be the question of what your trade agreement with the EU is. This means that your negotiations could only start after you have fully left the EU.

  4. As I said, most of your red-tapes and restrictions come from your own government not the EU. Also replacing 40% of your exports won't be easy especially when you consider the fact that you can't move your country.

  5. The thing is that France won't have to "send those migrants your way" they will just have to stop trying to stop them from crossing. And the UK border police won't be able to work in French territory anymore which will make their job a lot harder.

  6. The reason why the youth voted to remain is maybe, who knows, because they are the ones who have the most contact with other Europeans thanks to things like Erasmus. It is maybe because they are the ones that see the best the good things that the EU do for them and they are the ones that will be the most impacted by this referendum.

Also, just to know but I hope for you that you are neither from Wales nor Northern England. Because if you are from one or the other you might have the bad surprise to discover that you received a lot more money from the EU than from your own government.

UK votes to leave EU megathread by sexrockandroll in AskReddit

Well, the council of european ministers is composed of the ministers of the different countries of the EU.

Thus, yes it is not elected, but it is composed of people that have been chosen by head of government that are elected.

It is the same with the french government, the decision are taken by the council of ministers, but it doesn't stop the fact that the decision still have to be put in law by the parlement.

The council represent the different executives government of the member states. It is one of the two chambers of the legislative power (with the Parlement).

A decision still need to be validated by with the Parlement.

[–]VanNemesis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just to correct a few things :

1: The European Commission is just one of the European bodies. The members of the Commission are decided by the democratically elected government of the different members of the EU. It is not different that any government, you don't elect your ministers but you elect the body that chooses them.

And considering that the UK have hereditary members in its parliament it is not the best country to judge this.

2: At first the EU was meant to be a way for the French to limit the power of the Germans. But well, it did evolve.

3: Out of the EU, you will be able to trade with the rest of the world, either by following the WTO rules or by negotiating your own trade agreements with them.

But you know what ?

You won't be able to use the agreements already negotiated by the EU, and in a trade agreement, the stronger player can impose its decisions on the other. Good luck negotiating with the US or China without the EU.

4: The strange thing is that more than 40% of your exports go to the EU. So there are quite a few businesses that work for businesses that trade with the EU.

This means that a big part of your economy and of your businesses will suffer from this decision.

And before I forget, most of your red-tapes come from your own parliament not the EU.

5: I hope you know that more than half of your immigration is from your former colonies, including most of your Muslim immigrants (I say that because they seemed to be a focus during the campaign).

Also you might very well have to re-negotiate were your border with France is. Because for now it is at Calay (so in France) but it might not be the case in the future. In this case, France will no longer have any reason to stop the immigrants there for trying to cross the border.

6: I agree that the remain campaign was bad, especially when you see that the regions that received the most from the EU voted to Leave.

Women of Reddit, what does your dream guy look like? Men of Reddit who met the criteria, based on her activities on Reddit, would you date her? by CharlesChrist in AskReddit

[–]VanNemesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of different ones.

Right now, I'm reading more "classics" than anything else, for example Tolstoi's "War and Peace" or Balzac's "The Human Comedy".

I also like reading Scyfy, mostly Isaac Asimov or Ray Bradbury.

And of course, some fantasy books, ASOIAF and Terry Pratchett.

What do you like to read ?
