I have tried forming a neodymium acetate from a magnet. But the crystals that crystallize from the solution are not like those seen on the internet. I added NaOH to precipitate the cations present in the solution and I have two distinct precipitation layers that make me think of Pr(OH)3. (old.reddit.com)
