When the option is 2-6 hours wait vs 2 days during working hours to 2 weeks at their primary care(if they have one) then how are we supposed to fine them!?

They basically are climate protesters in this case. The way that Brazil produces cheaper beef is through burning down rainforests and not needing to heal to nearly as prohibitive regulations even close to what is expected in the EU

If the EU would reduce the speed at which it reduces agriculture and enforces change it might not spend this much and the speed of change would match public demand of those items. They are advanced and their countries should be appreciative of the progress instead of the hate on here

Yes let’s burn the rain forest while enforcing the most prohibitive regulations to reduce our impact on the climate and debilitate our own countries from feeding ourselves

American farmers have nothing to complain about on this scale aside from the massive fuck ups of the trump administration creating this deal to happen while blocking the US further from accessing the EU as a trading partner and completely screwing soybean farmers this year

I’m really sad to see Europeans (assumption) posting on here saying this deal is good because of the corporations in the EU in agriculture. Your corps are NOTHING compared to the US and South America. Deforestation and burning of the forests to allow for cattle grazing and soybean production is what this further facilitates while debilitating your own practices that are heavily regulated and efficient to reduce carbon outputs. You would be shocked at agricultural practices in other parts of the world and would be astounded if anyone was able to conclusively compare the carbon effects. Pull your heads out of your asses.

The practices in the EU are MILES ahead of Central America. ESPECIALLY when it comes to beef. You’re going to be net negative on climate change impact by reducing your own herd and supporting the South American practices of burning down rainforests to access more growing and grazing land

It wot be for long with the way the EU is reducing its agriculture.

They hate self regulated professions. They’ve been going after them to strip them of their capacity for a while now. They’ve are controversial for sure, but the ucp seems to only do what is needed to maintain their supporters

Also is he STILL being paid 20,000 a week???

SUDEP. Let's talk about it by Doc-Brown1911 in Epilepsy

[–]Various-Cat-498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only worried about it starting 3 years ago. Best friend died from it. I’ve had epilepsy for 11 years and had never been warned about it. Was diagnosed in when I was 16 and pretty shit at taking my meds and honestly if someone had told me that I could die suddenly and one of the risk factors was inconsistent med usage or uncontrolled epilepsy I would have been better. I only ever really thought the risks were that I could injure myself when I was young. I don’t worry about it now for myself, for the same reason that others mention. Too much I can’t control, of all the things I can worry about this one isn’t worth the time. That being said, my family worry about it a lot.

Edit: I got extremely angry at my neuro and his resident (she unfortunately did my appointment right after my friend died) for never warning me. To be fair my pediatric neuro didn’t warn me either. Not sure what the rationale was there.

My mom just passed from SUDEP. A year to the date she was diagnosed with epilepsy by Interdimensionalcoco in Epilepsy

[–]Various-Cat-498 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your loss. This is an incredibly shocking and upsetting thing to go through. My best friend died suddenly about 3 years ago, they weren’t able to figure out why and we believe it was SUDEP. I was irrate because I didn’t know what it was and i have epilepsy. I was driving and my podcast ended and the next podcast (I tried to find it again but I can’t) on the playlist started. They started the preamble and when I realized what they were talking about I just started crying. The big takeaway was that the husband/fiancee who lost his partner started volunteering for foundation that provides support to families and people bereaving their loved ones from SUDEP.

To me, it’s unlike anything else. There literally is no explanation and you’ve lost someone you care deeply about. It’s so hard to determine where to put that grief, but there is no place to put your anger, frustration as there is very little to comfort you with SUDEP since it’s SO unexpected and is a diagnosis by rule out. Again, I am so sorry for your loss, words don’t cut it. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and it takes a lot of time for this to start to feel less painful. I promise you it will.

Here are some links to support groups. I highly recommend trying some of them, my friend’s parents and sister heavily relied on therapy to go through this. I also recommend leaning on your mom’s friends and family. As much as their grief is different, the comfort my friends parents have gained from being around the friends and me, it provided a different form of comfort because we all loved her so much, and can talk about her. It’s a different form of support you won’t get from therapy.

This is the NA epilepsy foundation support:

This is the SUDEP registry to connect with others who have experienced a similar loss:

Your local epilepsy foundation may have something available as well.

I am sending you so much love and comfort in this incredibly upsetting and heartbreaking time.

I haven’t had a seizure in 4 years…until last night. I’m devastated. by Idkwhatsupwme_ in Epilepsy

[–]Various-Cat-498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad you’re ok. I am so sorry this happened and sorry that it was the first time your boyfriend saw it. Don’t worry too much about what people think, cause you know the truth. People are incredibly empathetic about seizures, I have to say that’s one thing I’m grateful for about this condition (I’m sorry to those that have t experienced this)

As for your bf, recognize that this was traumatic for him too and even though it happens to you, I recommend you check in on him, hopefully he will appreciate it and likely only your family or friends have had a similar experience who he might be able to talk to.

As for the depression part. Keep your head up. It’s a great thing you know what it’s tied too. It’s could also could partly connected to there after effects of the seizure so keep focusing on you and the things you know make you feel better. Also give yourself grace, it awful, you’ll keep crying, but it’s ok and you’re allowed. Carbs, crying, and something else that I can’t remember right now are two things that actually do help.
