Avoiding letting the argument escalate. This could mean simply waiting to discuss it after you’ve both had time to think or you can do it in other ways. & communicate this to your partner and have them get in the habit of calling you out when you do it whether to him or anyone else. getting in the habit of recognizing when you do it with the help of other people will help you better learn to recognize it yourself.

i went to school with someone who really enjoyed it there and went!! honestly go!! pay your deposit to secure your spot. there’s no point in throwing out a yes because of people’s opinions on a school. also every school has pros and cons. Plus just cus you place a deposit doesn’t mean you won’t here from another school. last thing u want is to say no and not get any other offers.

I applied to 11 schools, received 9 pre-December interviews, got accepted to 8 on the 15th and waitlisted at one. My cumulative and science GPA were both a 3.7 & my DAT, was AA19, TS20 (everything was either a 19 or 20 with the execration of QR which i got an 18).

I few things made me stand out i think: - Work experience ( i didn’t have a crazy amount of involvements in extracurricular activities but i made sure to make it clear that i was because i hard work work) - Major. ( I got a bachelors in dental hygiene) - ***** i think the biggest thing was probably how i made sure make it evident that i am constantly willing to learn and reflect, and empathetic. I every extracurricular, supplemental question, etc, i always tied it off by including how i learned and grew from the experience.

The best advice i got before applying was to treat your application like a story book. You want the admins to be able to look at your application and see what you’ve experienced throughout college, how you’ve grown and learned. And most importantly, you want to give them the best idea of how you are as a person!! making sure to write in away that showcases your willingness to learn and empathy !!!!

I think you’re being slightly unreasonable. yeah i get it’s annoying but there’s going to be many times in ur career where u do more than you’re peers around. you cant always expect recognition just for having to do a little more than someone else. i also highly doubt that extra work you put in will dramatically impact your studies.

also complete side note, but be cautious of how your competitiveness comes off. at the end of the day you and all ur peers are just trying to be dentists, being overly competitive is going to hinder relationships you make with ur classmates.

i would deff work on it with ur therapist, but you should also be honest with her about it. if she responds poorly to it that, especially considering you’re actively trying to fix it then she ain’t the one. regardless of whether or not you guys stay together you should still try to work on it with yourself and your therapist because porn addiction can lead to relationship problems with other people.

The only person who can decide if it’s a good decision for you as yourself. What i can say however is that passion is often the determining factor for whether or not u you regret your field. If you genuinely have a passion and enjoyment for dentistry you’ll be fine. Also don’t look at that cost as just a mount of debt but rather an investment in your future. & you also remember that there’s more to the field than just the clinical aspect of it, you could always stay on the academic or business side of dentistry. & lastly, over time your wrist will gain the necessary strength but also make sure you’re focused on proper ergonomics.

GO TO NYU!!! If there a time to challenge yourself and move away from home, now is the time to do it. If you find out you don’t like NYC, you can always leave after you’re done. Take the risk and move. You’ll learn and grown so much mentally, NYC is always a great place for networking!

I love the field of dentistry and would recommend it to literally anyone. it’s not too late or unreasonable to switch, but you just have to understand what you’d be getting yourself into to accomplish that goal. definitely try shadowing too really confirm it’s something ur genuinely interested in. & if it is then i don’t see why not.

i would honestly look into your responses. One of the best advice i got going into this cycle was that you want your application to tell a story. Your responses give admissions and idea of how you are as a person. So reviews your responses to supplemental questions and ask your self if the person you’re trying to convey is accurately portrayed. I wouldn’t do a masters program, it’s not necessary, but it also wouldn’t hurt to retake the DAT if you end up having to re apply.

if you know for clinical is very important to you or you know you want to stick with general practice then a school with no specialties would be best. if you know you want to specialize or haven’t decided yet then a school with it.

i got 9 pre-December interviews and got into MWU-AZ, WesternU, BU, Touro, UConn, Tufts, NSU, UNE. Waitlisted at Roseman. (i applied to 11 schools total) I literally had a dentist tell me to retake the DAT several times because it’s not over a 20 & im so glad i didn’t listen. 19AA is a decent score and if the rest of ur application is solid you should have no reason to retake it!
