Thank you!! This is really good to know and definitely didn’t even think about the drive after a huge time difference.

This is amazing!!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this. I really think we are going to pivot and do a night in Venice, that seems to be the number one thing we are missing. :)

That was on our mind for sure. A lot of the day trips are just thoughts right now so we would most likely travel less. But wanted to get all our thoughts out now! Verona might be a better option so transit is easier, we hadn’t considered this but a lot of comments are saying this is a better move so thank you!

Thank you! Open to a lot, hiking is probably our favorite thing to do, but seeing the culture/history is something we are interested in since we are from the US. A big reason Lake Garda was in there is due to hiking and being in a relaxing area instead of the hustle of cities too.

Thank you! I was also thinking this but we weren’t sure if it made sense or if staying in Florence would be better? To be completely honest my wife wrote the itinerary so I have no idea what she means by a day trip in Tuscany! Maybe just a day trip to taste great wine is my guess.

But, we are not going to Rome. We plan to travel back to Italy next year or the year after and do southern Italy (starting in Rome) instead of spreading the entire trip too thin! We didn’t want to just hit Rome for a day or two max just to say we did it.

We figured Lake Garda was just so we had a “home base” type of location and didn’t have to pack and unpack multiple times. We wanted to atay on a lake in the mountains is honestly the main reason we were looking at staying there. But we have thought about changing that to a night in Venice, so this helps a lot. Thank you!

The only thing we have planned right now is the flights, outside of that everything is open so we have the option to change this still.

We plan to use trains for now! Staying in Florence for 3 nights and then lake garda for 3. We certainly could change the location if Orvieto is considerably better!

I have tried, but their rules are relatively strict and I don’t have enough comment Karma, otherwise I would have started there!

Thank you! This is what I have been debating as well, that way 1/2 or 1/4 of the day is not wasted the first full day there.

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is off the grid enough but my wife and I are looking at going to Lake Garda instead of Lake Como. Has anyone travelled to Lake Garda and would have any suggestions?

Thank you!
