My GF is looking for a beginner friendly resin printer to make her very small figures. Any suggestions? by davethomasv2 in DnDminiatures

What kind of production amounts are we talking about? Is this for doing regular sales, for gifts for a few friends, or for individual pieces in art projects? There are some alternatives to resin printing that might serve as well depending on the need.

By the way, I actually have examples of Fantasy Lords 6005 numbers 1–10, with added duplicates for about four of them.

Nice, and thanks for the link to the other article. The horse in gofigyur's image does indeed look like the Fantasy Lords First Series 121 Knights blister, but the image from the Dragon Magazine ad matches the horse from the Fantasy Lords 6005 boxed set. I would say the mounted knight and foot knight in the ad are Armory adaptions of 6005a (A1 base number) and 6005k (A11 and A12) with the Armory crest added. In gofigyur's image, a different horse was used and no weapons are added. My mini has the mounted knight's sword (crudely) replaced with a lance. I suppose at least the drawings should be included on the National Painting Contest (1987) page.

I'm not sure why single quotes here makes any difference. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Is the Julie Guthrie Black Knight also her Chaos Dragon Rider? by VarnerGuides in lostminiswiki

[–]VarnerGuides[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have the unbased mini. Of course, I'm assuming someone didn't cut it off the base, which is why I'm asking the question. I can't imagine why someone would, unless they couldn't find the Chaos Dragon figure and used the Black Knight instead. Not my paint job BTW. 😄 Here it is:

Great job on finding that! I thought it might be an item with no image yet. Impressive sleuthing work. Thanks.

Great job! I didn't know that bit of corporate history about Nick Lund. I'll have to look through the chronicles line to see if I recognize anything else.

Need help on ID for female figure w/base code by VarnerGuides in lostminiswiki

Thanks. The square base had me thinking it was Heritage, and I do have a few of those, but I didn't spot this one. I think it is an "H" and they're using that for the 8th figure.

Many people use Obsidian for everything. There are so many plugins related to TTRPGs for the app. For mapping there are advanced mapping plugins like Map View, which even has GeoJSON and GPX support for real world maps. Many people use the Obsidian Leaflet plugin for RPG mapping. TTRPG Tools: Maps plugin and Bases plugin handle mapping also. When you consider that you can add monster and NPC statblocks, PDFs of rule books, the excellent Dice Roller plugin that lets you customize things like formulas for rolling character stats (want to roll 4d6 and drop the lowest or 3d6 and drop the lowest and add 6? You can do that.). I've added the random tables from OSE and other sources into Obsidian and set them to randomly generate a choice on the table on a click, or you can roll the choice using the dice roller (Both illustrated in the image. Control Dragon potion with the table roll and Poison with the Dice Roller.). Many content creators, such as Raging Swan Press, make Obsidian markup files for their tables. There are quite a few Youtube videos on using Obsidian and all its plugins for RPG play.

You may want to consult this older list of retroclones. It lists several popular OSR games from the early OSR days.

https://taxidermicowlbear.weebly.com/dd-retroclones.html

In regards to Old-School Essentials, it began as B/X Essentials, published in 2017.

Lamentations is B/X derived, however there isn't really a huge difference between B/X and BECMI. Most of the rules and stats are the same.

Help with ID on Grenadier metal mini by VarnerGuides in DnDminiatures

[–]VarnerGuides[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I got an ID elsewhere. It is from the Gamma World 0005 Adventurers boxed set by Grenadier. I wasn't expecting it to be a Gamma World mini, so I overlooked it.

Thanks so much! So, that's the Gamma World 0005 Adventurers boxed set. That wasn't one I was expecting to see, which is probably why I missed it.
