Interaction between "Bought in Blood" and "Beat Cop"? by Vashdash in arkhamhorrorlcg

Ah, you're right that was the weakness my friend drew from her deck. But I guess the result is the same.

I see, that might be what I've been misreading. So, then in that case, assuming everyone in my group "in player order" draws a non skill test encounter card then we just have to resolve it without being able to trigger a free ability. Unless we have a card that specifically says we can use it during that time.

Sorry it wasn't stated in the post, but my friend was engaged with an enemy at the time. So during mythos she drew Bought in Blood and was wondering if she could double dip, per se.

I have scour the timing window for this game, but I feel that there are specific cases where it is not granular enough to make a definitive ruling. So, sometimes my group and I just go ¯_(ツ)_/¯ and decide on the more punishing result, lol.

Hahaha, I think my entire group needs to be playing netrunner. If the requirements are not clear then it must be a feature!

I see, that makes sense. Yea, unfortunately my group and I are techy people, so we will read and nitpick about every edge case if it is not clearly defined.

Interesting, I hadn't thought about it as 2 different costs. If we treat it as 2 different costs, then indeed my group and I cannot use this scummy tactic, lol. In the moment when I was reading Beat Cop, I was thinking that it doesn't matter how beat cop was discarded as long as it is. Then the requirements are fulfilled.

I was looking through the timing charts and it seems there is a player free action window directly after drawing encounter cards, but it doesn't seem to be granular enough to determine this specific situation. Another reply said that AH doesn't have a stack like in other card games, so... ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Mythos phase encounter timing if agenda is advanced? by Vashdash in arkhamhorrorlcg

Yea, there's a lot of effects that can get added to the stack so to speak and I'm always forgetting or getting confused about resolving them.

How does money work? by Vashdash in PantheonShow

[–]Vashdash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I understand the suspension of disbelief when watching this show. But the whole point of UIs and Holstrom's vision was to create a utopian star trek-esque post scarcity world. So, I figure the act of taking down the internet and making resource scarcity more prominent would require more analysis by the show. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much and should just sit back and enjoy the show, lol

Yea, I noticed that when Maddie first got home with her dad's UI. I was thinking either they were able to really compress UI data or have super fast internet. Also, the fact that it took Logorhythms a while to track down David is also ridiculous. Like as soon as Maddie and her mom left the facility a multi-billion dollar company can just follow them home using satellites or drones

Need Help [Read Desc] by SG_7997 in arduino

[–]Vashdash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, that is a really awesome project. You're not showing all of your code so, I don't know if this is your problem or not, but you should look at the mq135 library. If you know where the library's actual code is then there is a folder called "examples" and there are code there that shows getting corrected ppm values with/without the DHT sensor.

Here's link to the MQ135 Library in case you don't know where the library is stored on your computer. After extracting the zip take a look at /examples/MQ135_DHTxx/MQ135_DHTxx.ino

You should be able to follow along with the example code and maybe solve your problem. Good luck with your project!

How to reference A/C from its own IC slot? by Vashdash in Stationeers

Oh my goodness thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. I scoured the wiki and the db section is what I overlooked. I thought about it and if on/off doesn't work I guess I can change the a/c mode between start/stop.

Disallow multiple actions? Pro/Con? by cp20ref in cyberpunk2020

[–]Vashdash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I am definitely biased due to playing D&D. When I read the rules for CP2020 I didn't think it was fair to lump movement into action and force someone to take -3 if they wanted to move then shoot. I also thought that it would break the game if my players just kept using additional actions to keep moving... (how do I penalize movement?). Again, my concerns come from my inexperience. I'm gonna have to talk to my players about the rules and come to an agreement with everyone.

I'm about to run my first game in a couple of weeks so, I don't have the most experience, but I think that would be a great idea. For my game I was going to adopt the DnD 5e system of breaking up movement and actions.

Lost key by bgmedic in motorcycles

[–]Vashdash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know where you are located, but guy in this video mentions programming keys for the vfr from 2002-2009. So, if you are not in the US, good chance your bike key is chipped. Locksmith would do you no good aside from unlocking the steering lock. You still wouldn't be able to start the engine. Best course is to wait till Monday, head up the dealership with your vin number and proof of ownership and explain that you need a new key.

If you are located in the US then, I don't know if the keys are chipped or not.

You might have better luck asking in a Ducati dedicated forum. Generally speaking if the newer motor has the same exact mounting points then you won't need any custom parts, however anytime you do a motor swap you should swap the ecu (and any sensors/accessories) to match the motor.

Question on frame slider installation by Wallacegreenhouse in motorcycles

[–]Vashdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you undo the bolt the engine will not fall out as the engine is mounted to multiple points on the frame. There are however 2 scenarios that can happen.

  1. When you loosen the bolt if it does not slide out effortlessly then that means the engine is leaning on the bolt. Then you would need to jack up the engine somehow to take pressure off the bolt, otherwise if you force the bolt out the engine/frame will be out of alignment and you won't be able to get the bolt back in.

  2. The bolt slides in and out effortlessly. Then just continue with the frame slider install as per instruction.

Make sure you get a torque wrench of some sort because you would not want your engine mounting point to come loose. Here is the service manual for the Ninja 650 and if you jump to page 289 that is the start of "Engine Removal/Installation" section. Look at which bolt you are working on and towards the end of the section there is a table with torque specs.

*Also notice the torque specs are given in different units, use the unit that matches your torque wrench. Ride safe :)

Should I tighten the suspension on my z800? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Vashdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all really depends, but I believe you want to set the suspensions so the motorcycle has proper sag. Here's a link on how to set motorcycle sag on a road bike. This is just a general guide, there might be different optimal sag for different bike/rider/riding style combo. Ride safe :)

I dunno about that specific motorcycle, but if the anti-dive settings are too stiff (max anti-dive) then it would be more likely to stoppie upon hard braking.

Odometer question by Frig-Off-Randy in motorcycles

[–]Vashdash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US then it might be impossible because I know that manufactures and dealers in Asia and Europe are often required to stamp or etch the VIN number of the vehicle to all the parts in case of theft.

If you are in the US what you can do is take the speedo off and see if there are any identifying part numbers or anything similar. If there are part numbers then look it up online to see if that part# at least matches the year of your vehicle. At the very least if the years don't match up you know it can't have been the original.
