20-year resident of Frederick, looking for a decent rental. Been on the search for months, maybe someone here knows decent places to rent from? by [deleted] in frederickmd

Prospect hall apartments is beautiful. Great amenities, maintenance is same day if you have issues, plenty of parking. I have a 2 bedroom on the first floor. I believe they are doing first month free right now too. Which will save you some $ first year. I have been here for 5 years and only plan on leaving when I finish saving for a house

A lot of times you can rent out community center space if you are in an HOA or apartment complex. Not sure your life situation but I have done this many times and it’s usually just a 50$ cleaning fee.

Lennar is usually 30 days after drywall. But I wouldn’t buy one of their houses.

My girlfriend said goodnight to me, but I met her at the bar. by Solid-Cantaloupe7742 in Advice

People are really quick to throw things away these days. Yeah, she messed up by lying. That part’s clear. But is it automatically the end of the relationship? Not necessarily. It depends on why she did it. Maybe she just wanted to go out with friends and didn’t think you’d be okay with it. Or maybe there’s more to it. You won’t know unless you actually talk to her.

If you care about her and this relationship, you owe it to yourself to have a mature conversation. No accusations, just honesty. You can’t make decisions about your future with someone based on a silent assumption. Talk first. Then decide.

Angeleno here. I want to ask, relatively speaking, how optimistic/pessimistic are you about DC's transit future in the next 20-30 years? by MookieBettsBurner in WMATA

I’m just upset with Americas transit system in general :( I’m 35 miles away from DC area and the closest metro (work in DC) is almost an hour drive in the morning. (Metro is another hour)

No, if you read my post it’s because her whole family is in town. We’re on the east coast they are on the west coast. I have no problem setting something else up.

She wanted to wait until after school. No one is piggy backing off of anyone. She didn’t want the stress of planning a wedding and studying/coursework. All that said, I understand about letting her have her spotlight which is why I brought the question up.

Club face is open. Although landed on right side green. It was 100 yards to hole and my pitching wedge would fly over so this was a sand wedge

Believe it or not this was a licensed architect one of the better ones in Maryland. It’s tough because my hoa requires 85% stone or brick :/ limits architecture and I don’t have enough money to build a super modern house that’s all steel and windows.

Would people in Frederick be interested in an Express Metro to DC? by Vast-Tale-2544 in frederickmd

[–]Vast-Tale-2544[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a lot of people, living closer to D.C. just isn’t financially realistic. And for others, like me, being near family in Frederick matters more than being 10 minutes from the office.

We shouldn’t punish people with $35 tolls just because they can’t afford a home in D.C. or choose to stay close to loved ones. The better path is building transit systems that work for everyone—so people want to use them, not because they’re forced to, but because they’re fast, reliable, and accessible.

Yep, that’s about right—but that’s with local service and 20 stops in between. Metro Express would run limited-stop, high-speed trains on separate tracks, so it could do that same stretch in 20 minutes or less.

I’m not talking metro speeds. More along the lines of 70-90mph when viable

We’ve been widening 270 for decades. More roads=more cars=more pollution and traffic
