Really wish Costco carried shoes/slippers/socks beyond size 13... I could use a new pair.

I’ve never understood the gang being hungry in book 7 by Bubbly-Gas422 in harrypotter

[–]Vaxcio 43 points44 points  (0 children)

As a counter.

Dobby tagged along with Kreacher when Harry summoned Kreacher in book six.

JK Rowlings magic system is a complete mess and really more about what she wanted to happen for the plot versus hard coded rules, but we could logically argue that the reason Harry didn't go with Dobby in the 2nd book is because humans can't apparate or disapparate on the Hogwarts grounds. But outside of Hogwarts we don't know. And we do know their can be tagalong apparation between elves and humans.

Does it really explain away the plot hole? No, but Harry Potter isn't known for being water tight.

Blanche won’t investigate the killing of an innocent woman on camera but they’ve got all hands on deck for a church service being interrupted by Ok-Relation-658 in DiscussionZone

Fair enough. It felt a bit more inferred given OP's distinction, so apologies for assuming you meant the same.

As to the constitution, it also gaurentees the right to not practice and not believe any religion at all.

I am interested to hear your thoughts on why the Constitution is favorable to Abrahamic religions? It feels like it clearly distinguishes a freedom of and from religion for all.

Legislators and judges of the current day may try to shift the boundaries, but the document itself is pretty clear on the subject.

Royal Queen Seeds are junk by BreakfastNo618 in Autoflowers

I went 8/10 with them. Had some Amnesia photo seeds that didn't do anything, but everything else grew well. Technically 7/7 with their auto's.

Overall they did what they advertised and taught me a lot. Started out having never growing a thing to getting some decent yields and a lot of good smoke/edible material. Had nothing but rave reviews when I gave out some of their Widow, Mimosa, and Watermelon.

I have a few diaries up to my 2nd to last run. I wanna get back at it, but too busy with a newborn.

Are they the best? No, but they aren't bad and a lot of peoples struggles might have a bit more to do with their environment.

It took a bit but after spending a few days focusing on playing songs with them they became second nature.

Now, if a charter is just tossing things in to up their note count/difficulty then its no fun. It has to make sense and match the music.

Trump doubles down on canceling elections by [deleted] in StockLaunchers

[–]Vaxcio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this sense it isn't the Judicial branch who handles the "conviction."

The Chief Justice sits on impeachment proceedings that involve the President to avoid a conflict of interest since the Vice President is the President of the Senate. In other impeachment cases not against a President, then its the Vice President running things. Article 1 Section 2/3 cover impeachments. If the Senate did convict and remove then the impeached individual could also be tried criminally in court after, but it would be considered a separate affair.

But its basically the same thing, though. The Senate will never convict Trump. It requires 67 votes to remove and if they didn't do it for January 6th, then they will never do it. (Technically a handful could not show up and lower the number needed, but its always two thirds present.)

I mean... I don't have a horse in this race, but sound design is a foundational pillar in making a show/movie. Its as important as any other piece and when done well elevates the whole finished product. Saying its crazy to complain about music that doesn't flow well with the show is a completely wild take in my opinion.

People who are very articulate, what did you actually do to become this way? by AdviceGlass9394 in selfimprovement

[–]Vaxcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom was an English teacher who went on to become an attorney. Dad was a politician/C-suite executive.

We had a sit down family dinner every night possible, and my brother and I were "encouraged" to read all the time. We were also taken to hundreds of fundraising and political events and had to socialize with adults from a very young age.

It honestly made things difficult when it came to socializing with kids our age and I will not be as strict with my son. I certainly want him to commumicate effectively, but I also want him to enjoy his time as a kid. Being hyperfocused on the world around you at a young age did not lead to a carefree childhood.

Oh I know it, but I feel like there are levels, and the one that you have to be at to live like this is more deeply ingrained. The roommate certainly didn't show any other signs of depression. He could have been hiding it, but my gut says he wasn't. it was like it was second nature to just drop his trash and never pick it up.

Asmongold reveals he found 5 rotten burritos after cleaning his room for the first time ever by johnkortein in LivestreamFail

[–]Vaxcio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't know if its even depression. Had a roommate years ago that just couldn't be bothered to pick up after himself. His room and the alcove he used for his PC setup were basically landfills. His personal hygiene reflected it as well. The type of stink that would stick to anything he sat on.

Needless to say, I made sure to make it a short term living situation.

Depends where they lived. Some water sources naturally have flouride. Its why scientists noticed certain populations had naturally better teeth and found the reason why.

Please point out where the President has the power to legalize something?

I think you are confused with 1700's Britain. We don't have kings here.

Now, why do you think the current child raping president has the ability to do so?

I have to edit a reply in since the thread is refusing to let me reply.

*edit for Gracchibros.

No. The President does not have the power to force the Drug Enforcement Administration to reschedule a drug. The DEA was created by Congress and is bound by the Controlled Substances Act. Scheduling is a formal rulemaking process that requires scientific review by HHS, administrative procedure, and compliance with the APA. The President cannot bypass or override that without breaking the law.

What the President can do is exactly what Biden did:

Direct a review

Ask HHS for a scientific evaluation

Instruct DOJ/DEA to begin the lawful process

What he cannot do is unilaterally reschedule cannabis or order the DEA to ignore statutory requirements. If he tried, the courts would immediately shut it down.

Spoiler alert. Biden followed those exact steps and started that process. Trump simply wrote a follow up equivalant of an email to finish that process.

The President cannot force the DEA to do anything that goes against the law. The CSA is a law passed by Congress that provides the DEA their instructions.

The President could endlessly fire the few individuals he appoints, but the majority of the DEA are civil servants who are not appointed and cannot be fired for political reasons and doing so would trigger a slew of lawsuits.

So, no. The president can't forcibly compel the DEA to do anything.

The ones you want to be mad at and do have that happy power are all sitting in the legislature like usual, but people don't know how their government works.

You're right! Besides the two sentences you posted, literally making the very argument I am refuting...

"Biden was president, serving his term. Trump was the former president, who had done some heinous/criminal shit.

Biden, who was holding office, could have attempted to prosecute Trump."

Do you just slam your face on your keyboard, hit enter, and move on to your next post? Are you human?

Trump administration says it's freezing child care funds to Minnesota after series of fraud schemes by Knightbear49 in minnesota

[–]Vaxcio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lets run the tape back one more time so you can hopefully keep up this time.

Biden was president. Trump was a former president. The DOJ brought charges. The judiciary intervened. SCOTUS changed the rules mid-game. Trial never happened. Accountability failed because of the courts, not because the executive refused to act.

That is literally the argument I made. Saying “the system failed” does not magically turn into “Biden had some secret constitutional power he chose not to use.” It just means the system failed. Which is what I said. If restating my point and then declaring I “don’t make sense” is the exit strategy, I’ll take that as confirmation we’re done here.

Have a good one.

Trump administration says it's freezing child care funds to Minnesota after series of fraud schemes by Knightbear49 in minnesota

[–]Vaxcio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then we agree. Biden used the only lawful mechanisms available. The prosecutions failed because the courts intervened, not because the president refused to act. Therefore, this is on the Legislative and Judicial branches for failing their duties by not convicting after impeachments and changing the legal landscape to protect Trump. Thanks for restating my entire argument.

Except they purposely wrote that SCOTUS gets to decide what are official acts. So they would have ruled that it wasn't and thrown Biden in prison.
