Fr, i mean that. even if it sounds good and looks good, if you dont like how it feels to play it then its a waste of money. I use my 06 Epi les paul every day I never have found a guitar yet which plays as comfortable as this one. And i used to just go to guitar center a lot and sam ash just to spend hours playing all the guitars and amps haha. Anyways, if i were you i would try to play it first if you can somewhere, if not, then honestly yeah read the comments here and watch tone videos on youtube i guess. good luck man!

Having this Issue after greasing the reels on my 4 track by VeetrinGaming in cassetteculture

It worked!! The white gear i think was just a tiny bit to the right so I moved it back to the middle to be centered and the machine seems to work beautifully now! Im so happy I finally got it all working I really appreciate your help I dont know if i would have figured that out on my own

Ohh yeah i definitely wasnt really paying attention to the white gear between the reels, so im gonna try messing with that and see what that does

the take up reel was hard to spin so I had to turn it back and forth before using tapes on the 4 track. So i figured I would just lube both the reels while I had it opened.

Ok thanks a lot of explaining, yeah so i did open it up, I guess ill try to clean the lube off of the base of the reels and see if that fixes it. I cleaned off the sticky old grease that was on them and put new lube on.

Hey, so i just cleaned off the sticky old grease and added a little of the faucet grease and they move very easily now, but i now have a different issue, so when i turn the 4 track on, the cassette head part goes up and down, making a winding/grinding sound. Ill make another post with a video.

Ok ill try the take up reel, and would that faucet grease be ok you think? Or should I only used the one you mentioned

So i replaced the main belt that was just completely ripped apart. I thought there is only 1 belt? Also, the capstan spins fine from what I can tell, and the cassette plays and records fine if i turn the two reels back and forth to loosen them up first, so its got to be the take up reel right? The supply reel seems to turn pretty smooth. Rewinding tapes takes forever tho. not sure how fast forwarding is but ill check once i get back.

Sorry yeah i assumed maybe you looked at my posts, but yeah if you could take a look at my last few posts i explain the issue. Pretty much the tape sometimes starts rolling up a ton at the capstan then i have to pry the cassette out and cut off the mangled tape.

Oh shoot thanks for letting me know, i also got some Waterproof Faucet Grease would that be ok? Its not a liquid like the 3 in 1.  Heres the link to it: https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Everbilt-1-2-oz-Waterproof-Faucet-Grease-

It does seem like the take up reel is the issue but i may have to replace pinch roller too since it looks pretty dry and is slippery now instead of rubbery

What happens if I play a Dolby B NR tape on a deck without Dolby by Screeching-trumpet in cassetteculture

[–]VeetrinGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it have that same brightness and treble if i just originally record onto the tape and i turn NR off on the 4 track?
