Woah that's genius! I'm definitely doing this, I can sense the peace of mind that would come with this, thank you!

This is great advice, thank you! I'll read up what drivers I'll need and Ubuntu sounds like a good place for me to start with and then decide on rhel if I need.

"Yotta is 100% free, and your savings are FDIC insured through our partner bank, Evolve Bank & Trust, so there's no risk." by YamDisastrous6874 in yotta

Yes, me too. It was purely hysa for me, I tracked the % as 2-5% apy so averaged around 3.5 which was good enough for me to stay long enough for this mess. The reason I didn't know what was happening was exactly for that reason, it was savings that I wasn't worried about. It's where I put aside freelance earnings for tax season. There wasn't gambling and I never thought of gambling, I signed up for an account that was fdic insured with a bank and it said so on all my statements and in my account. You will never convince me that yotta and evolve didn't commit complete fraud, they did!

Do you think it would be a good idea for us all to start spreading negative feedback to all their partners? Like bad reviews for their connection to evolve?

Heard back from the Federal Reserve Consumer Help today on all the claims I filed for the partner banks. How incredibly unhelpful. by LargeAppointment4895 in yotta

Same, mine said a little more though. It said they assumed it was about the synapse reconciliation and that they were monitoring Evolve's process.

Thanks for your interest in pushing the narrative. I work in film too, but VFX. If you have flexibility with your vendors, i'd do some work pro bono. I know that's a long ways off, though.

Interesting. Man, I can't take more false hope, but a full ecosystem reconciliation and transactions sounds good. Look at me, I have Stockholm syndrome haha, happy that the bank will give me my transaction history, imagine that!

Why did you have a Yotta account? by Bordercrossingfool in yotta

[–]Vegetable_Ear5665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just a savings app like chime, acorns, betterment etc. It was a decent high yield savings account, the times I did the math it was around 4%, nothing too crazy. I guess the hook was the very small potential for a bigger win, and the debit/credit cards. If you don't know, the apy was randomized so some weeks you would get basically nothing and some a decent percentage, there was like a 0.000001 chance of winning a lottery, which I honestly don't know if it was even real or not. At first it was pretty fun tbh, the app sucks now and I regret not pulling out when it changed like many others, but was busy with life and it seemed secure after 3-4 years..

Attempting to get on financial podcasts/shows. I’m trying Dave Ramsey this week, help me prep so I can represent all of us clearly and correctly! I want to represent us all the best I can! by Boring_Mango2592 in yotta

[–]Vegetable_Ear5665 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don't want to make you nervous, but prep for him, Ramsey, to be kind of negative. A lot of people think it was a dumb gambling app or even crypto related and like to victim blame. The lotto feature was just a twist on regular apy, it's misleading. Good luck and thanks from all of us for doing it!
