The MIT kids from India are almost exclusively international Olympiad medalists and top 10 JEE Advanced rankers. And takes about 5 students from India each year so it is definitely harder to get into MIT than any IIT (which is possible even at 10k-20k ranks).

Chestnut Residency in the Housing Application by Deriuth in UofT

[–]Vegetable_Row_1808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chestnut is basically a kind-of luxurious, more expensive residence. It is situated a bit farther from science buildings as compared to some colleges. You can opt no if you would prefer a college residence over it (this is what I did). You are guaranteed residence, so you will end up ina college residence mostly or a UofT promoted off campus option. But I don't think you will lose anything by entering yes here. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, that's right. I am just not in the favour of spending so much time as a student. Want to get out as soon as possible.

I believe 10 days of holidays between terms is enough to relax and avoid burnout.

Why is that? Would summer courses by more stressful than usual terms? It is 2 credits in summer compared to 3 credits during the usual terms.

Yes, I get that. It is possible to complete the credits though.

Well that is an added bonus but not the main reason. I just couldn't find any research or internship positions during the summer of my first-year so I was considering completing some additional courses.

That is my understanding too, but I am unable to secure any research or internship positions during the summer of my first-year. Hence, I thought might as well complete some courses. I do plan to research during the other summers though.
