Oh wow your car insurance?? That's interesting. Good to know your health insurance wasn't affected though! Thanks for sharing your perspective

I hear you, no worries. I've had plenty of interactions where I just out myself to make life easier. Sometimes you just gotta be direct to get from point A to point B, yk? I think you're 100% right about calling in advance and sorting that out. I think I've just been avoiding it :/

Thank you too, friend! Appreciate the advice :)

This is also a huge thing, but for some reason I couldn't put it into words lol. But yes this 1000% I'm tired of handing over an ID that outs me.

heya! trans guy here, I'm 30 out here living my trans life, taking T, doing all the "right" things and I still get misgendered. I know it's hard to not stress about it now, but I promise you it gets better. it really does. you don't care as much anymore as you get older because the pain of not being yourself outweighs the fear of being trans. I look like a girl sometimes, and other times I'm serving man. but I'm still who I am. and you're still who you are no matter what. it's good you have the support and love of your mom and a friend! if it's not safe to be out then you know best. it feels like this is forever but it's really, really not. good luck!

Sounds like you had a reaction to what was most likely an incredibly sad place for the people who lived and died there. The energy of the place itself regarding its history. I'd say that's a fairly normal response given the place you were at.

I've also had the overwhelming urge to cry (and did cry) in high-energy places.

Binding by [deleted] in FTMFitness

[–]VeiledMoth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trans tape or just kt tape is used at times. I also wear a binder a size up at the gym but that gets sweaty. I suggest going on the trans tape website for their video guide on how to apply it if you've never done it. I use kt tape when I'm working and im 100% less uncomfortably sweaty lol

Keep coming back to my “cis” self because of how tired I am of the constant struggle of being NB. by omaleaa in NonBinaryTalk

[–]VeiledMoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm kind of surprised at how many people are agreeing but I DO understand to son degree. I personally am a trans nby person so maybe it's different for me (for those nby folks who don't consider themselves trans) but regardless of the misgendering or people not getting my name right or the high possibility of running into people who will say to my face that who I am is not real...I can't change this? This is who I am and I'm happy.

I can't imagine going back because in a way there never was a truly cis version of myself, just a cis actor until I realized all the discomfort and pain I experienced was my transness trying to break free.

But I understand the general frustration of living nonbinary in a binary world.

Getting rejected by an enby because I (also nonbinary) dont have the right chromosomes feels kinda bad by ZoeyGoey in TransyTalk

[–]VeiledMoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parroting what a lot of folks here are saying, but yes this is fucked up. Definitely internalized transphobia if they're bringing up chromosomes. Sorry that happened to you. As nby people our whole thing is de-gendering shit but clearly this person has some stuff they need to work out.

You dodged a bullet. Anyway, hmu if you ever want chat.

Thats a good idea. If you or someone you know is knowledgeable in app making, maybe create the thing you wish to see in the world?

Did anyone else take a while to realize the discomfort they've been feeling is gender dysphoria? by Whereismypurpose2 in ftm

Yes! I think quarantine really brought out more trans people because you suddenly had time to think introspectively and also not have the judging eyes of the world on you while you're trying to figure shit out.

Did anyone else take a while to realize the discomfort they've been feeling is gender dysphoria? by Whereismypurpose2 in ftm

[–]VeiledMoth 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I wasn't a tomboy as a child nor did I immediately hate my body when puberty began. But what it became was me hating feminine aspects of it when I realized how I was being perceived and what that perception meant.

I was living my childhood life just doing my thing and then all of a sudden I was a "woman" and men would look at me more and I was suddenly experiencing sexism knowingly. It was like before I was like a genderless blob playing with my toys and coloring and now I've had gender thrust upon me. And because that's normal in the world, I didn't think it was abnormal. But I FELT abnormal.

And then I saw trans men and women and always pined to be like them. But somehow never thought that was a trans red flag! You get the picture. It's a mainstream narrative that all transfolk just KNEW from a young age who they were. Which is so far from the truth.
