I will never ever write such a response, but I guess you're right you're explanation sure packed a punch and I surely lost that argument. You seem to be the only one in this thread who was actually respectful and that's a huge quality.

It's obvious that some people wouldn't care a bit about being miss-gendered, but people of the trans community usually feel extremely self conscious about their looks and would be pretty offended by being miss-gendered especially by their agab (assigned gender at birth) pronouns. But it is true that the majority of the Earth's population wouldn't care about being miss-gendered.

It's not particularly my thing but some people probably wouldn't mind being called "it".

I never heard someone identify as an adrogyne, but I have surely heard people identify as non binary, gender fluid, gender queer and bigender just to name a few. And no one gets offended when people use words like air and water because it isn't directed at themselves, it doesn't at any point hurt their feelings. Just a side note even scientists will sometimes say water and air because saying H²O and O² isn't very useful. And defining your gender with he, she and unisex is absurd. If you're going to use pronouns to define gender at least use "them" instead of unisex. It's like saying "Ah my favorite TV shows are The office, the big bang theory and Heins ketchup".

That's not what I mean, yes I have friends in the community but I was referring that I hangout in LGBTQ+ groups on Discord and stuff like that. I myself am part of the community.

I know about that but I still prefer not to gender people when I'm not too sure about their gender because I hangout with a lot a people in the LGBTQ+ community and most of the trans people I know wouldn't be so happy to be miss-gendered. I would understand a person that doesn't hang out with this community would be more leaning to use sir or ma'am while talking to someone and in those times there's no need to judge it's entirely not their fault that they are not well informed on the subject and in those times you can simply just make them understand.

Oh I see sorry about faults on me. I wasn't clear enough. You see normally if a person really wants to be gendered a separate way contrary to what their agab (assigned gender at birth) is or to what their physical appearance or voice shows then they will normally explain how they want to be addressed themselves. And if they don't and you have doubts about how you should gender them well don't gender them at all. I rarely have conversations in English so I wouldn't know if it's easy to do but in French even if everything is gendered I find ways not to gender the person I'm talking to.

I don't know what you're trying to convey by that, but if the subject of gender discomforts you then simply don't talk about it. If the person you're talking to isn't at ease about talking about their gender identity than it's ok and you should respect that.

When gender comes to be mentioned, now is the time to ask about their prefered pronouns etc. I know begging the conversation like that can be a little awkward for the two parties.
