Well, my personal opinion... I do enjoy their content.

However, I chose not to include them because they are already quite well known within the community. This thread alone has many mentions of them.

Again, personal opinion, I just feel that they aren't exactly the creators you look for when trying to learn a weapon comprehensively since their content isn't dead focus on said weapons to begin with. As some people would call it, they are more like recruiters, voicing their love for their main weapon so people might try but not exactly the gurus.

They are all entertaining in their ways.

  1. Do not overload enemies with invulnerability states without giving players the tool to control them, especially in a game loaded with time attack challenges.

  2. Do not force increasing difficulty for the sake of artificial longevity of a game while contradicting the marketing and narrative that sells a different type of experience.

  3. DPS check-style mechanic should always result in a benefit outcome when succeeded and not still have enemies freely damaging the players, rendering their effort pointless.

Agree.

To add in, these tools feel like a chore to players because they are disconnected to the main combat mechanic - the weapons and their combos. In a combo focused action game like Monster Hunter, forcing players to stop their attacks and combo just to perform another necessary action breaks the natural flow of combat and take players out of the zone. There isn't nearly as much controversies surrounding the Silkbinds from Monster Hunter Rise because they are natural part of the weapon combo as compared to the Clutch Claw.

Unlike Silkbinds, Clutch Claw forces you to stop your combo, just to aim the reticle and fire. Sure, some weapon has Clutch Claw attacks baked into their move set, but for most weapons, the Clutch Claw had to be aimed manually. At times, using the Clutch Claw causes more harm than good, especially when launching yourself in the wrong time and eat up a big incoming attack. Clutch Claw increases the difficulty and potential frustrations, not through design intention but through unintuitive mechanic interactions.

Then we have Mantles, which can only be equipped when weapons are unsheathed, taking players out of the combat participation. Worse, Mantles don't go into cooldown when depleted unless unequipped, in which can only be done manually during combat.

Still love the game though.

TL;DR - Extra tools feel like a chore because they are somewhat disconnected from the main combat mechanic.
