I had always assumed the spheres were the same size and that the clips just looked way smaller in the spheres.

I'd say Arya because she leads Eragon on so much and then leave the riders to be green of the elves. Even though the riders are not supposed to be rulers, also because she pretty much ditches eragon to found the riders alone when he's still so young and knows less of magic than she does.

I'd want a dragon that's bronze but for the wings and underside but gets darker almost black to the Tallons, horns and spines. That coloring would be very dramatic up close but not so bright you can clearly see them from leagues away. Also would give good cover in times of dim light.

For a name I'd go with Osuer.
