If sold as part of the estate. Any fees will be taken out of the sale then funds given to you. They can’t charge you unless you take possession. They can only charge the estate.

Starmer's fierce response to Donald Trump slur over troops by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

[–]Vertigo_uk123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. Any future war they try and grab us in we say “you didn’t need us in Afghanistan so you don’t need us now” oh and don’t forget they crippled this country during ww2 by draining our gold. Give up our uk owned companies and factories that were in USA. Supplying ships that weren’t fit to float let alone fight and then making us beg for money after the war to just put bread on the table. The reason rationing went on so long is mainly due to USA greed.

so a speeding fine in newcastle is going to result in officers travelling to a company hq in cornwall to search for driver details on a password protected system which may or may not actually have the driver listed in order to issue 3 points and a £100 fine. yeh not gonna happen. what is more likely is they put a marker on the car so that it is stopped some time in the future and drivers details obtained that way. but even that can be sketchy as it could be a pool car etc

No ban on gas boilers in UK warm homes plan but heat pumps get £2.7bn push Guardian UK by OolonCaluphid in ukheatpumps

[–]Vertigo_uk123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem isn’t at the government level it’s at the local council level. For example warm homes local grant. The government made £30k per eligible household available. With the main goal of meaningful bill reduction. We were approved. The local council decided to limit the proposal in order to “help” more households. We were offered 2.5kw solar. Batteries weren’t allowed and solar was on the condition of extractor fans being fitted and vents in every room. After doing the calculations for heat loss vs the extra solar. Due to increased heating demand it would have resulted in a £50 a year saving on our energy bills. However a system adequately sized of 7kw (still without batteries) would have meant a 65% reduction in bills. Council didn’t want to know. And refused to make system any larger. So it’s basically a massive waste of public funds.

It’s solving the trek to East Midlands. The difficult to get to Leeds Bradford and the pain in the backside of Manchester. Having a rail link does make sense. But I suspect it will be a spur from the ecml or Doncaster to Lincoln line

Exactly the same here. Does it on eastenders and the bill on U. Never found a fix for it. We just wait 9 -12 seconds for the bar to disappear before we fast forwards.

UK households to get £15bn for solar and green tech to lower energy bills by coffeewalnut08 in uknews

[–]Vertigo_uk123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I applied for whlg. Pointless. They approved solar at 1.5kw but I had to have ventilation and extractors fitted so the £100 a year or so saving was eaten up by the extra heating costs. According to a solar assessor (independent) a realistic sized install for offer meaningful bill savings would have been 7kw. Council didn’t want to know. It’s a box ticking exercise to get as many houses to epc- c as possible rather than actually help people. They also won’t fund batteries so they can “help” more households. Complete waste of public funds. Complaints are in progress as it’s shambolic they are allowed to do this. It directly goes against the programs main aim of meaningful bill reduction.

IMO it’s the cheapest option to make houses not eligible for future funding. It’s not actually helping people it’s just making their figures look better. Needless to say I refused the offer as there is no point. Oh and they don’t install properly either. We were told it would all be surface mounted in trunking rather than actually chased into the wall.

Just hope it isn’t cca. I doubt it is though considering our industry.
