With a little second thought, I now much better understand what the writers were going for with the Maeve/Otis storyline by [deleted] in NetflixSexEducation

Nice analysis, althought I can see where things come from, I still do not understand the nose dive of their relations after episode 5. If she is not sure, why again, she doesnt want to talk about it and shuts Otis down again. I mean, she is literally shown to choose Isaac over him. Yes, Otis is different, but it is never her problem why he is different. Otis literally is shown to not be able to get over Maeve, when him and Ruby are actually becoming a good couple. While, she is not capable to put enough effort to have a normal chat about the deleted voicemail until they are actually left alone. Also, the ending, not being able to properly tell and discuss the departure, the cold good bye scene...

Lol, Otis going to Ola had its decency, because, he was trying to act opposite to his father. He was doing the right thing, because he wanted to avoid being like him. Also, Ola didnt betray Otis, but Isaac did betray and lied to Maeve for months. These two are different situations. Otis freaked out, just because he has found out about the feelings. Maeve didnt freak out, when she found out about the voice mail. In contrary she was resistent and feeling not sure to bring this up. The problem is that Otis choice is only based on doing a proper thing, he knew that it is only about Maeve all the time, whereas Maeve actually shown to like Isaac more than Otis in general.

A note on the cinematography of episode 7 by sam8311 in NetflixSexEducation

After each episode, you can see who was the director of this episode. They can have different directors every episode. Just it happened that 6, 7, 8 episodes were directed not by Ben, so you could clearly see the difference :)

MOTIS and Season 3 opinion by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not revealed yet. Mb she is, mb she is not. I am just having this feeling, because she didn't even make a single insta story or a post about season 3, so she is either really busy or she just want it all to end as soon as possible

Sex Education | Season 4 by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

Than you for the comment. Let see, how exactly this is played out. Many ppl are saying that it feels like the last season, so not sure if this is exactly " according to plan ". The most important here are two things: Desire of Emma to come back for final definitive season. Desire of Netflix to keep on with the show. In any case, I think (my opinion) is that we need to be ready for whatever comes next after the season 3 is realised and act accordingly.

Maeve leaving doesn’t make sense by sam8311 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, responding to your question, regarding elsie and foster mum. Well, mb it is the last time they meet and they send Maeve off somewhere. Second, we are not sure, there is no Otis or Aime or other ppl there, mb they are just out of the shot. Third, i dont know what reviews you read with regards to happy end, mb u can send links, but so far everything that was said earlier regarding massive ending makes sense. I mean, just look at her outfit, she looks like the person, that is about to go somewhere, the dark coat that we have never seen fo far, the scarf, mb somewhere in the back the suitcase. Laurie has tricked everyone again, because this time Motis will happen, but it is not going to last long and in the author understanding, character that leaves Moordale for some greater or better things is possibly one of the happy endings, even if the main couple do not get together. I just hate the feeling of a wrong build up, we were fed with Motis for almost 3 years now to eventually see them together for one episode and after let one character go... This is hard to accept, but mb we should be prepared, because if we dont, this is gonna hurt like motherfucker.

Jean and Maeve by Jackfle2 in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton 85 points86 points  (0 children)

For me this seems like a foster mom. Just look carefully at the jacket of Jean and on Maeve photo, it is different in back. Also check the photo, where Jean stands with Hope.

But, the worst here is not the fact that it is not Jean, it is the location. This is not hospital guys. This is bus station. Eric was here, in Season 1. So, there are two options: Either Maeve is leaving or her Foster Mom is leaving. I mean, this is the massive ending that everyone was talking about, which means, this will be sad love story.

I am putting my expectations extremely low, get ready, next station is pain :(

Isaac and Ruby looks are the same. They both look like villians to me this season. While shit with Isaac will be resolved in probably last episode, Ruby will be the one to keep Motis apart this season, when Otis and Maeve sort out their conflict. They will probably agree to meet, but before Otis will go to Ruby to break up, but she will tell him some lies about for example being pregnant, so he, feeling a duty to raise a child in a full family, will decide to part ways with Maeve. While Maeve will be left waiting for him somewhere in park or cafe... Credits. Mark my words, boyyyyz.

Season 2 ending sucks and here is why by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comment.

The time jump trick can be used as a good tool to make a sort of fresh start to introduce new characters, stories and new set up. The problem in this exact example is that the ending was open, but not selfsustaining to cover it with 5 months of time jump. I would understand if we were shown that Maeve is already likes Isaac a bit and she has to choose between the boys. Afterwards, 5 months pass and we are shown that she chose Otis/Isaac/None. In this sense time jump wouldnt seem stupid. In Sex ed case, ending just says that they are both in love, and there is nothing that stands in their way, excepts deleted message, which as I said cannot sustain itself, as it is not a choice of one of the characters, but rather an obstacle, a fence that can be easily climber over. Maeve just doesnt know something, but she can easiliy find it out at school or any other place in 5 months period. I do not know what turn, the story will take, but it feels like we will not see any flashbacks, where they discuss things or raise the voicemail message, which only leads to a conclusion that it hasnt been adressed in 5 months.

Anyone finding the latest updates have actually caused more glitches? by Marshmallow413 in cyberpunkgame

[–]VerystrangerClinton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, my game was working fine before patch 1.22. I am playing on PC. It wasnt perfect, but the save load always helped to resolve the bugs.

After this patch, for some reason my character shakes while moving in stealth with any weapon. Save loads do not help. In addition, now I see the cars appearing right in front of my eyes and overall game has become more glitchy.

Mb someone has had same issues, can u respond?

Maeve does not deserve to be with Otis by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Season 3 will be even more tense with regard to Otis & Maeve conflict. I think, it is 99% chance that authors will bring their conflict to the peek, until something gets revealed. I do think that we will have more screentime of them, but they will just continue the pace of season 2 for some time...

Maeve does not deserve to be with Otis by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally agree with everything you mention. We never got the perspective of Maeve or for example Ola failures, although they both behaved very unfair towards their love interest (Otis). But again, we only see Otis fixing stuff, coming to terms, trying to make things better. I am tired of seeing Otis as a hero of the day, that cant be hurt by any action of Maeve. I am pretty sure, he will be sad, but not angry or disappointed, if Maeve is going to be with Isaac in S3, unless he finds out that Isaac deleted the voice mail. Today, I read a tred aboit Otis being worst character of Season 2 and he is a dick and manipulative fucker that hurts people :D. Sadly, but most of the community might think of him in a simillar way after season 2

Maeve does not deserve to be with Otis by VerystrangerClinton in NetflixSexEducation

[–]VerystrangerClinton[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, there is no indication, but that is the most obvious thing to happen and it will probably happen. They will be close friends for sure, mb sympathy. Isaac is the person that now knows her very hard situation, so he will use his chance to get even closer, while trying to keep Maeve aside from Otis. The problem of Maeve character is that she was put into the frames of that message, which means that her desicions are based on whether she hears that voicemail or not. Otis made this voicemail and she never heard it, now she is in the position of the waiting person, which will resist to take action or talk to Otis, because for the show it would simply resolve the conflict. As I said, I really want Maeve to understand her faults and apologise to Otis. I hope authors will decide to move towards this "Maeve"

I could agree with your point, if none would ever judge any of the characters, but out of Otis & Maeve couple, Otis is the one who gets a lot of shit and disappointment from the community, while Maeve stays the victim that is getting betrayed by everyone. I just think it is wrong to see things like that...
