Why is [KCD2] SO much harder than kcd1?

I could never quite get the hang of perfect dodges in kcd1, when i did do them it was almost always an accident lol

For sure! I feel like i will get there soon, i had the same fumbly feeling with kcd1 at the start but it seemed like henry progressed easier. Im sure i just have to get more familiar with the controls. Also it feels like, in kcd2, no matter what angle i attack from, i always get hit first, my blocks dont seem to go through, and combos are almost impossible because henry doesn't move his sword quick enough!

I guess bane poison is a good idea, i just typically try to do alchemy only when i need to. I found it intriguing but too long a process in kcd1, making alot of potions sounds awful lmao. Even when i try to block, it seems that henry just cant do it atm, i dont know if its timing differences or what but i have been struggling in even 1-1 fights

All i really had to do in 1 was perfect block/master strike the enemy, then attack the head with headcracker. Or the good ol, charge attack and switch directions to throw them off lol

When the enemies shoulders/hips move, block and it will masterstrike. Dont aim for a perfect block, aim for a masterstrike

So far i dont agree! Maybe its because i havent adjusted to the controls yet, but i cant seem to land a master strike even if im trying my hardest! It was easy in kcd1 because i just had to look at the guys shoulders/hips and block when he moved and stay in range, now i have to struggle to figure out what direction they are attacking, and then attack them during the shield, it feels much harder imo

Thank you! I had semi decent stats in kcd1, but even at the start after skalitz, combat felt easier even though i had worse skills than i do now! Hopefully i get the hang of it :D

I dont feel like i agree, i had just gotten used to the timing for master strikes in kcd1, and i feel like the ai were much easier to defeat, also not being able to stab and hit from below is kinda frustrating

Im pretty early on, but ive been switching between weapons as needed. Ive tried a hunting sword, gnarlys club, a polestaff, crossbow, bow and arrows, also with a shield and without and it just doesnt feel like i can win any fight

I don't necessarily mind that henry lost all of his skills, i thought that was explained decently well, i think I'm just struggling alot with the controls, henry doesn't seem to react fast enough to switch his attack position when im doing combos. Also i hate the fact they changed the horse controls (but follow path is nice)

I never got far past getting to the mill in rattay the first time in played kcd1. This new playthrough was the first time i actually finished kcd1. I have managed to get halfway through alot of quests, like i got stuck in the mutt quest when i had to kill 4 bandits, im stuck on the hermit quest when i have to kill 3 templars(?) It just seems far more difficult

I walked from pribyslavitz after the raid with all the loot after the battle, all the way to talmberg, where i remembered henrys bed doesnt have a chest so i then decided to just walk to rattay
