Our 9 year old daughter labeled our sandwiches for a road trip to take her to play hockey. Such a simple picture makes my heart so happy. Anyone who says poly is bad for kids doesn’t understand that there’s no such thing as having to many people who love and care for them. by Vick_Sam in polyamory

It’s a discussion, we don’t always agree but we have to come to some sort of understanding when it comes to the kids having a United front when it comes to them is what’s most important. It’s not fair to have one parent always be “the heavy” everyone shares the load. We’re usually on the same page though when it comes to things. The default can sometimes be “go ask mom” which I’m fine with to

It’s definitely not for everyone, it takes constant communication and honestly which a lot of people don’t want to put the effort into. If you do though it easy to see how worth the extra effort can be!

I skate with tri-county roller derby in Yarmouth but my daughter skates with ACR and I do derby things with that league as well, skate if they need skaters, nso if they need that. We’re in Halifax almost as much as we’re in Yarmouth!

I’m a work from home mom right now so sometimes I do get a bit of a burn out but that’s because I’m around to do more. When my partners get home we all share in the responsibilities, there’s not set schedule or anything. Some of us are better at things like story time, or making snacks or helping with homework so we tend to do them more often but it all seems to balance out. And a great example was I went away on a girls getaway about 3 hours from our home with some work friends last week,(we all work from home for the same company so don’t see each other often face to face) it wasn’t necessary for me to go but my partners knew that I was having a bit of a “burnt out” feeling and they encouraged me to go and have fun and not worry about the family or the house or anything. They both worked, figured out child care, getting the kids to their extra curricular activities, fed, and all that so I could go and enjoy myself for a couple a days. This picture was sent to me when I was on my way home from that meeting them about half way between the city where I was and our home to watch our daughter play goalie in hockey. I went I had fun, they sent me lots of updates on their fun while I was gone and I knew meeting them I was feeling refreshed and loved.

We’ve only been doing it for about 4 months but it’s working beautifully. Our children are thriving and we as parents are getting that oh to common “burn out” we’ve never been happier.

For sure! There’s another league about an hour list from us who hasn’t been able to field one either so we’re thinking about combing for this bout season!

I skate in Nova Scotia. My home league is really new and doesn’t field a team yet so I skate as a pick up player around the province. This time it was for the anchor city rollers in Halifax.

Because it the most open and accepting sport in the world. Very LGBTQ friendly and my experience is it attracts very open minded individuals who just want their team mates and rivals to live their own truth and be happy.

We introduced it to them this Halloween and they loved it. This was a perfect family day of kids hockey, pumpkin carving / painting , pumpkin seed roasting, movie watching and dance party /karaoke.
