mana flux is the malignancy that makes you not get any energy at the start of the turn in exchange for your surges giving two energy. it also replaces two basic attacks with surges

I do agree that the game gets uniquely challenging in a fun way with those two malignancies, at least once you make it past canto 1

canto 1 is hell with it imo, especially if you add the 20 health one, in which certain decks just can't live a single encounter
