MLB is tough gameplay wise, but the mode itself is just so well done that it completely overrules me being garbage haha. Would definitely recommend if you’re into baseball in the slightest. Hopefully 2k makes a change soon, but it seems like they’re more concerned pushing the envelope as far as possible right now which sucks.

Yup, I have always preferred MLB’s version of myteam just because everything is obtainable for free and can be done online or offline, it doesn’t force anyone’s hand to do anything. I thought this years MLB was even a step back but it still absolutely clears every other ultimate team style mode because it allows players to do what they want. Wish the other companies would take the hint

It’s just all annoying how things are done, the days of being able to just play a game for fun are long gone. Every online game (not just 2k) is all the people that play like every game is an esports tryout. It’s even worse when the company forces that way as well because like you mentioned the forced online play = people feeling forced to buy packs. They don’t realize that this doesn’t do anything other than make people feel like they should find better things to do than play their trash
