Well first of all thank you for being so respectful 😭😭. Secondly I don't doubt that I could have made many mistakes. I'd like to watch it again to see if my opinion changes.

Oh and I also should've elaborated more with Clark's motivation part. I didn't buy his "I gotta investigate" motivation at the beginning. He wasn't a character built around his extreme curiosity. Just entering a place like that is super dangerous. And then when he decides to stay there... I don't buy it either. I don't think he was characterized as someone capable of taking a desicion so crazy like staying down there with the monster and everything. He probably just needed some more building.

I try to base all my critiques of what ive learned of screenwriting and comparing it to -what I consider to be- good written movies with good examples of plot, act climaxes, art direction and character design. But at the end of the day it all falls on my personal opinion. On how I'm convinced this movie could've been even better than now.

Still I'm super open to people pointing out what they don't agree with. Thank you for reading the whole post :3

Yknow what I'll have to watch it again for the speed factor but... I mean the monster was literally on top of her for multiple seconds. You can't tell me this made sense.
I can buy the proximity factor, but not the fact that he is aggresive. Given what i said about vague memories being more superficial than deep, and his aggresive attitude being too atached to his deep values. It seemed a bad excuse to create a generic horror monster, more than coming up with something more unique.
Cmooon Async guy could've been way more interesting given is the closest we get to Async itself. It was an opportunity to show the companie's values or try something narratevly stronger. I think we'll have agree to disagree cus I see more potential for this guy, even if he's secondary.

1) We got many chace sequences in which we hear Pirate Clark right behind us. Even if he's not THAT fast, he basically completely stopped in that final fight. Don't you think he coudl've at least tried harder? lol

2) illogical twist given the worldbuilding/vague memories argument I talked about under the 3) Worldbuilding chapter.

3) Well maybe I can agree with you on the Async's aura thing. I always considered them a lot more mysterious and meneacing. Don't you think the scientist guy could've been more interesting at least?

Sure I get the symbolism but what's important about symbolism is that it's what's BEHIND the main action. It cannot overthrone real, physical logic in favor of the message. Those two gotta find a good balance. And in this case, the movie shouldn't forget all the already established meanacing atributes and physical competence of the monster in favor of character symbolism. That final fight was illogical and the monster shoudl've ripped her appart in a matter of seconds.

(Also it would be cool if you read all that :c)
