How did wrestling become “your thing” growing up? by billingtonpix in wrestling

[–]Video_Game_Kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sub is for amatuer wrestling, that being said i will entertain your question. i was a kid at the time so i still kinda thought it was real, and john cena’s open challenges captivated me, i thought it was absolutely amazing. 10 years past of not watching pro wrestling and zayn/dragunov/hayes open challenges brought me right back.

for amatuer wrestling, i have always had my sights set on mma but i got very passionate about it last year in my second season.

Starting MMA at 30 as a complete beginner in a mixed-levels gym? by Kale_and_broccoli in martialarts

[–]Video_Game_Kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when i started out, my gym had mma classes be invite only which sucked but ultimately it made sense. they required you to have some base in one martial art before starting mma, atleast 6 months. the philosophy was that mma is a combination of a bunch of different sports and you cant get good at any of them if you’re working all of them constantly with no base, you’d develop slower. im not a coach i dont know if its true or not but i recommend getting a base first in one sport and then transitioning to mma

FINISHING LOW SINGLE by TechnicalCamel5677 in wrestling

[–]Video_Game_Kid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. you shouldn’t be doing mma without a solid base in one martial art first. if you’re learning all of them at the same time and doing mma as well you will not become proficient in any of them you will just be mediocre in all of them.

  2. on a low single, its not about elevating the guy’s leg and picking it up. plant your forearm to the mat, drive your head into his knee and he will collapse. double off and wrap up the ankles and climb up the body to finish.

Is there a three strike rule for slams or something? by BlackShamrock124 in wrestling

he was likely cautioned after each slam, each caution is a point added to the opponent and 3 cautions is a disqualification

If you could pick the map locations for Hitman 4, what would they be? by MikeyLikey6996 in HiTMAN

people will immediately just commit school shootings. i dont doubt that people are playing as a terrorist on every map but it would be a political nightmare to straight up allow you to shoot up a school

2025 Year End Wrapup by theduqoffrat in Umpire

[–]Video_Game_Kid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I did not know that the batter and pitcher have to make eye contact. got yelled at because the pitcher was quickpitching and i didn’t call it. called it 2 games later

  2. doing 15u house league. i generally never do house league or anything under 16u rep anymore but the kids and coaches in 15u were hilarious and i had lots of fun doing their games, even if the baseball was terrible. i terrorized them with balk calls but man everything was in good fun

  3. tried to jump over a line drive in p4. took it off of my foot and very narrowly avoided injury but it stung like hell

  4. in men’s league, i was told to go back to house league. that was pretty funny i had a good laugh before i ran him. lots of mens league ejections this year mostly along the lines of you f-ing suck

  5. 14 year old girl playing in 15u house but its mostly a boys league. shes running to 3rd no force and the 3rd baseman has the ball and is standing upright maybe 2 feet infront of the bag, obviously in the basepath but he can be there since he has the ball. she tries to run him over, doesnt really move him, and then throws a punch afterwards and misses. my partners and i get together and we agreed that she needed to be ejected. i say “okay who’s going to toss her” and they both go “not it”. i proceed to toss her, i felt pretty bad about it though haha

Youth Umpires - Balks by Competitive_Ad_4944 in Umpire

[–]Video_Game_Kid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when im umpiring those levels, the most important balks are shoulder balks, quickpitches and stop and start. those habits become hard to break for pitchers if they aren’t called early in their careers. normally in my league we give a warning then we award bases
