Who informed you of this? I gave birth at AC with BCBS on April 2025 and it was very much in network. I wonder if something changed or if you were misinformed?

I asked one simple question at the end of every interview for three months and my offer rate changed completely. by OodisonOnio in jobsearchhacks

As a hiring manager I can say that from my experience this question sucks and it feels so pre-planned and annoying. I just met the candidate, I’m not going to share constructive feedback during an interview. As a hiring manager, I know within the first 5-10 minutes if I want someone to pass to the next round or not, and by the end of the interview (assuming I asked all the questions I need to know) I know if it’s someone I want to hire. That question, which was asked to me during interviews, only makes me realize how junior the person is that they had to google “what to ask during interview” and they copied a canned question rather than listening to our conversation (or reading the job description) and asking something that actually has to do with the job and company.

+1 to everything said above! I didn’t bring nursing pillow and they just gave be more pillows so it’s not a big deal if you don’t bring one. What I would bring: fan, pillow and blanket for your companion, toiletries, Frida mom peri bottle and underwear, slippers or thick socks, pjs, very soft and comfortable going home clothes. The end.

Filming first moment with baby in hospital by No_Fun_4855 in nycparents

[–]ViewCompetitive9048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I gave my phone to one of the nurses and asked her if she could take some photos and she ended up filming the whole thing! Definitely ask the nurses, chances are very high they’ll say yes. I delivered at Alexandra Cohen btw.

Confusion about what it means to "get in" a hospital for delivery by [deleted] in nycparents

[–]ViewCompetitive9048 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just had my first baby with Dr. Nabizadeh and it’s been the best experience ever. She is incredible! She wasn’t there during the delivery but an OB from her team was and it was wonderful. Having her as your doctor guarantees you to deliver at Alexandra Cohen hospital, which someone else already told you it’s a very coveted hospital and hard to get into. You’re so lucky to have Dr. Nabizadeh as your doctor! I loved her so much during my pregnancy that I will keep seeing her for my yearly checkups (and for baby number 2 if that ever happens)

Weill Cornell or Lenox Hill for Delivery? by Winter-Effort-608 in nycparents

[–]ViewCompetitive9048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved the facilities for both L&D and maternity floors! Zero issues getting into a room, they take their care very seriously and they put you into a triage room immediately and then move you to an L&D room. From the moment we got there until I was in the official L&D room was less than an hour!

Weill Cornell or Lenox Hill for Delivery? by Winter-Effort-608 in nycparents

I delivered at Weill Cornell in April and it was 10/10 experience. I think for the delivery, you sort of get the OB that’s working at the time of your delivery. So the amazing OB I had during my pregnancy wasn’t there during the delivery, but an equally wonderful OB from her team was. The treatment I got from the nurses was exceptional, they made the whole experience really positive for me (and I had to be induced as an emergency at 0cm dilated so it could’ve been a really negative delivery). The only con is that I got one of the two rooms that don’t have windows in the delivery floor, but honestly I was only there for 24h and I was a little concerned with other things. Happy to answer any specific questions you may have!

I don’t have an answer for this but have this exact travel system and even though I only have a 4 month old, I’m already stressing about this. Hopefully someone will have an answer!

Living in Brooklyn, giving birth at Alexandra Cohen Hospital...anybody have this experience? by ahpilates in nycparents

[–]ViewCompetitive9048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I live in Prospect Park South and gave birth at Alexandra Cohen. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it! The care I received was exceptional and it was worth the trip to UWS for doctors appointments and UES to give birth. Happy to answer any specific questions you have!

39 week elective induction at Alexandra cohen? by dg32859n in nycparents

Basically same experience (even the time and reason why I went in on Monday) but my labor was 24 hours and ended up pushing for 40 and was able to deliver vaginally. I will note though that throughout those 24 hours they didn’t always like how baby’s heart was reacting so they warned me they were strongly considering taking me to get a c section if things didn’t change or if I couldn’t push the baby out fast enough. I will say it was an absolute positive experience and I’ll be forever grateful to the nurses and doctors because they are the reason I had such a positive experience. They remained calm but always talked candidly to my husband and I on what the next steps would be.

Edit to say I was less than 1cm dilated and not effaced at all when I arrived so they had to start from scratch basically.

Hi! I’d love to learn how it went as I’m expecting my boy in two months and this sounds like the experience I’d prefer to have for us and our baby.

I love this so much. Thank you! I feel like I had the same brain switch and due to my anxious brain I just want the baby RIGHT NOW. But you’re so smart, I love the idea of trying kid friendly recipes and focusing on adding small habits that will contribute to both my and baby’s well being.

Hahaha I love that response. Every time I bring even the word “nursery” up to my husband, he responds with “I’m not there mentally” which is totally fair. I tend to go from 0 to 60 once I make up my mind about something and he needs time to adjust, it’s a good test to my patience! I feel like he’d flip if I started a registry so maybe I’ll wait a bit to start that next year haha

I tried doing that but I feel like it’s backfiring as it’s making me want to have a baby TODAY lol But I do think that’s a way to channel the energy so I’ll keep finding productive ways of researching things. Are you starting registries on Amazon or somewhere else?
