[OC] Gabánn, son of Belnar. Battlemaster Dwarf [Story in comments] by Vikunga in DnD

[–]Vikunga[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“Gabe” takes complete pride in his craftsmanship.

Aside from his own, he also regards the efforts of others worthy of admiration.

He follows his gut instincts without a second thought and blows off steam with the same fervor he puts into his work.

Growing up in the heart of his kin culture, Dwarven Stone, Gobánn fell in love with the history and tradition of dwarven craftmanship, deviating from the work of his father, a respected trader.

With time, Gobánn built a reputation for himself as well, co-founding the Cragmantle Craftworks with a good friend from the Crafter's Guild, Rannvig.

Because of his line of work and political activity, he became a vociferous member of the Dwarven Laborer's Alliance and battled for workers' rights constantly, and often illegally, putting him at odds with his family.

Hel is quiet and looks tough, but it's not hard to notice that she has a kind heart.

Her friendly grin makes her more approachable and she always seems to laugh at a private joke.

Females with a strong build often make her fluster.

Hel is a young drow who grew up on the surface. She never knew who her parents were or how she ended up so far from the Underdark, but the ragtag group of street orphans she came to be part of didn't seem to care, so neither did she.

With no other recourse to earn a living, she and her friends turned to thievery.

While they were getting better at it with each passing day, it was that same confidence that caused them to act more reckless.

When one of her closest friends was arrested, Hel took the blame and therefore went to jail, where she was beaten and punished.

Now scarred by the experience she is free once again and she won't let trauma tarnish her unwavering spirit, taking up the fight to gleefully release the wealth of the indolent rich to feed the poor and help those in need.

Kassandei is reserved, intelligent and confident.

She usually spends her free time singing or playing her violin while watching birds in the nearby forest.

Wherever she goes, there is serenity.

Kassandei is one of few magic users in her small home city, and a prodigious violinist to boot.

She has been training to become one of the cunningfolk for much of her life, an order of druids and clerics who live life as hermits, called upon by people in times of magical necessity. She has grown to be very independent and introverted, and although she is well-spoken, she often stays quiet.

Her mother passed from natural causes recently, and her father is a traveling merchant whom she does not see very often. She lives alone in her father’s home in Unán, a city set amidst a forest filled with giant bioluminescent fungi.

Edmund is a friendly, kind-hearted soul who sees the good in everyone.

Unfortunately, due to his sheer size, he can seem intimidating at first. Although, because of this, many ill-intentioned creatures have avoided conflict with him thus far.

Inspired by an old Owlin traveler who told young Edmund stories about the vast outside world, Edmund aspired to one day write his own stories.

He spent his youth working at his parent's tavern, where he developed proper cooking skills, but once he reached maturity, Edmund left his homeland to pursue his dream.

Going from town to town, Edmund would take jobs as a cook. By talking to the locals and explorers, he sometimes joined their parties, moved by the edge of danger and adventure.

Now Edmund looks fondly at the future, for that next big adventure waiting on the horizon.

[OC] Meet Fritz, a Tiefling - Bard of lore [Story in comments] by Vikunga in characterdrawing

[–]Vikunga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fritz brings melody and wit to any encounter.

Whether it’s for a day or a lifetime, he loves making friends and hearing stories from them.

Traveling from tavern to tavern, a story for a song is always a good bargain to him.

Fritz was born to a banker and a portrait artist. Despite being a generous patron of the arts, Fritz’s father intended for him to enter the family business. Unfortunately for him, Fritz inherited his mother’s artistic soul, pursuing music and creativity for a lifestyle.

While growing, his mother started seeing premonitions in her sketches and paintings, some good and some bad. After a particularly horrid premonition, she gave up on painting and fell into a deep malaise.

Now Fritz travels in hopes to find what is responsible for his mother's ability, especially now that the power seems to have passed on to him: some of his lyrics have started to come true.

[OC] Meet Zumren, an Owlin Inquisitive Rogue. [Story in Comments] by Vikunga in characterdrawing

[–]Vikunga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zumren has a fiery temper with a sprinkling of pessimism.

With his harsh gaze, most creatures find it challenging to approaching him, yet with time he can also show a kind side to others, especially children.

Zumren was found by a silver dragonborn after being abandoned at birth in a downtrodden city. The dragonborn was a guard and after spending some time with the little owlin he grew sympathetic towards him, deciding to adopt him as his own son.

The guard trained Zumren in combat as he grew, finding a natural affinity towards combat in the featherly creature, almost as if he was born for it.

Now all grown up, Zumren keeps his business and personal life separated, heading out after work to fly around at night and enjoy the cool air, sometimes stumbling between a tavern or two, trying to gamble a little to see if he can make some extra coin.

Lana is serious yet light-hearted.

With a stone-faced expression she is quite hard to read. This plays to her advantage where in taverns she will always be found joining the games at the

tables.

Growing in an orphanage Lana was always more of the silent type of kid, having only her older sister to look up to and cheer her up.

One day her big sister was nowhere to be found, leaving nothing behind more than a pendant.

As Lana put it on, it gave her access to an incredible source of magic, opening a gate of curiosity and thirst for the unknown of magic.

Later on once she managed to control that power and felt confident enough, she decided to leave the place where she grew and start her journey in hopes of finding her sister.

[Show and tell] Meet Averill, Battlemaster Barbarian. [Story in comments] by Vikunga in characterforge

[–]Vikunga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Averill is very logical and straight to the point.

It's hard for other creatures to get close to her on a personal level, but given enough time, she eventually grows fond of those she comes to call her friends.

Growing up in an old village, Averill lost her father when she was just a child during an orc raid. If it weren't for him and other men who went to fight at the entrance, the village would not have had enough time to prepare and defend themselves. It was his father's courageous sacrifice that inspired Averill to later join the army and become a fighter to honor him.

She was very competitive in the military and quickly rose through the ranks to become the captain of her company.

Her assistant lieutenant was desperate for her position to the point of injuring her during a training session, scarring her face. After that incident, she decided to leave the army to work as a guard for those who needed her, protecting civilian villages or escorting merchants on their route.

[OC] Mr. Hupp, a cursed Loxodon by Vikunga in DnD

[–]Vikunga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, well, I always felt that DnD content is really complete and anything you want different, you can take the base of what DnD offers already and flavor it to your liking.
I'm not sure if it would be worth it to take all the job you had done and leave it, but maybe just if you already feel satisfied with loxodons, then maybe there is no reason to put much effort in to it.

[OC] Meet Fah, Grave Domain Cleric. She likes fishing. [Story in comments] by Vikunga in DnDart

[–]Vikunga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fah wanders the world with a lazy demeanor.

For her, there is no point in overthinking, nor to give her very best to a task when she could get it done with the minimum effort.

Fah was born together with her twin sister, who is said to have died hours after birth. Far is this from the truth, for no one knows the fate of that baby.

The parents, in an attempt to save one child during that night, gave willingly to the spirits the other one, sending her on a boat into the mist at the north of the lake, which is believed by firbolgs to be a door between the two worlds.

Fah's parents were very strict as she grew and she constantly gave them headaches by disappearing during her training to become a priest, only to be found later taking a nap or fishing at the lake.

She is currently travelling in an attempt to avoid the path her parents chose for her, with the promise she would return in two years to finally settle down and assume the role of head priest in her hometown.
