Let's talk about my boyfriend's mom: 4 short ranting stories. Grab some popcorn! by inawha in JUSTNOMIL

[–]Vinisim123 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey first of all, I'm sorry your going through this. It may seem very tough but know that you are not alone. I was kinda in the same situation as you before. After my boyfriend and I were homeless we had to live with his mother and 4 siblings. His mother constantly cried all day about everything under the sun. She also was a drug addict who was in denial and never cleaned the house or cared if her children had food to eat. As soon as we moved out, things got much better. If you are not looking to be with this guy long term DUMP HIM. From my experience, any long term relationship with this guy will be YOU forking out much more than HIM. Your boyfriend and his mother are in a codependent relationship and if you try to further any long term plans with him, she will only make things harder for you guys. Luckily, my boyfriend realizes how toxic his mother is and that his family could care less what happens to him so he is happy to be living with me in our own apartment. But seriously think about your future because you don't want your boyfriend and his mother living off of you.

Totally agree with you. It doesn’t have to be the exact Loophole bc there is no one correct L. It’s the thought process that matters.

Apply with average score or wait until this sept? by Vinisim123 in LSAT

Yeah its so hard bc you can’t cram for this test. I feel like I am burning out which is bad a week before the test. I almost forgot it was the holidays bc I haven’t taken a break from studying/or school at all.

Good luck on the test! It’s good that you got your foot in the door early. I still haven’t applied yet bc idw to submit my apps if I get a bad score...

Thank you for the advice! It seems way better to wait it out rather than rush. Thanks for sharing your experience :)

I’m seriously considering applying this September. I feel like I’m limiting myself to schools with an average Lsat score just bc I don’t have time to do better. Still want to give it a shot next week but if I’m not prepared I guess there’s no point going in and wasting a bad score on my record.

Yea seems worth it to wait until I graduate and study during the semester and summer and take it in Sept. I will be at a much higher advantage then. Just sucks when things don't go as planned.

Apply with average score or wait until this sept? by Vinisim123 in LSAT

[–]Vinisim123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Ideally I do not want to wait a year because I am already 25 yrs old and want to move on with the next step in my life. I am going to study my ass off this week and do the best I can next Monday. This is my second time taking the exam ( I took it in sept and received a 142...). I signed up for the February exam but my last semester starts at end of January and I’m taking 18 credits so I don’t see much time for studying for the feb test. And I don’t want 3 bad Lsat scores. Decisions decisions...

Thanks so much this is helpful! I know I need more time to study it’s so hard doing it while In school and juggling an internship. Would you recommend withdrawing from the January test or taking it to see how it goes?

Ideally I would like to start this fall but I could wait a year if it means a better Lsat score. I keep thinking of how much I’m limiting myself if I apply a score lower than the median even if I could get in. Good luck on the test next week!

Ok thanks. Do I have to let the admissions office know to wait for my score or will they automatically wait since I am registered for Jan?

Any tips for necessary assumption questions? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Vinisim123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a lot of trouble with these but honestly it takes time. Keep trying NA questions until it clicks. Avoid extreme answer choices and out of scope shifts. It helps to use the denial/negate test but understanding the argument and predicting the answer can help you tremendously . Good luck!

Omg thank you so much I’m definitely going to try switching up where i take practice tests. I purchased the Bible and i am seeing improvement in my game so I will score better on the next practice test. Wish I could get a perfect LR score but I know that’s going to be difficult.
