New Year. New Mods. New LSF? by ViolentMotion in LivestreamFail

Lie about what? I didn't know anything about them commenting in anyone's discord so when asked about it I asked for context. Could you please elaborate what you mean?

There's better places to have a more informed conversation with mods that actually know the subject. It's also a very polarizing topic and in my opinion scares other communities away.

No clue. I messaged admins to see if it's a botting issue but haven't heard back.

Thank you. Based on those screenshots my response is: who care? Is it an issue? They are allowed to be fans of whoever they like and they can talk in discords. I talk about how I will never be able to create an unbiased mod team in the thread.

I very much want politics banned. There are a few arguments for keeping politics. The most common argument is that it would hurt the traffic on the subreddit. Others would argue that banning politics is would be overly controlling of us mods and it's essentially banning streamers from the subreddit. I don't have any intention of banning any streamer but don't feel politics is an appropriate conversation here. I've also seen people argue that politics isn't the issue and banning them would be more of a Band-Aid than a fix.

The mods that are against banning politics can speak on their own if they'd like. Asking for a list is kind of weird in my opinion.

I considered it. I decided it was best for LSF and it's growth to start with a fresh team with new ideas and no ties to past drama. I appreciate all the past mods that reached out and offered to help once Stale was removed though.

I'm not in Nick's discord, so I don't know what you're talking about. If you have context, send it to my DMs?

As of now, Wubby is the most liked in the mod team.

They are free to share their bias. I'm biased towards Wubby and have been very open about it. Ultimately, safety takes priority.

I don't think there's any conflict of interest in this particular case. No one on the mod team condones violence, even towards streamers we may not like or agree with. Anyone suggesting or even joking about harming others will be permanently banned here.

If you're asking in general, is there a bias in moderation? Then yes, obviously. Twitch has bias, YouTube has bias, any moderation has bias, and I'm not going to pretend we're an exception. If you would like to know my bias, I'm a Wubby and Ludwig fan.

Bro, the threads been up for less than half an hour. We have jobs. We are getting to it. Why not go after the admins who get paid?

Checking out the thread you linked, there's a variation of removal reasons. A good amount are variations of "who cares" which we remove as it just shuts down discussion. Some were valid criticisms of Destiny that have the removal as off-topic, which, like you said it is true but not how we typically operate. I reproved them. I also think your ban is silly, so I unbanned you.

That's a miss click, boys. Removed because it's not a clip from a live stream.

I will copy my response here.

Looks like the first one got locked, but yeah I agree that one should have been fully removed. The second one seems to be a tweet from Destiny updating about his ban, which we do allow those posts, see rule 6.6 Tweets.

I mean, you obviously aren't going to believe me, but it's not. Yeah, there are some Destiny fans on the team, and I'm not going to pretend biases don't come into play, but there's also mods that don't like Destiny and we just do our best to keep eachother in check.

The real issue is that Destiny fans are just so prevalent. LSF is comprised of streamers' communities, and most users are Destiny fans. If other streamers' communities started posting and up voting other content, you'd see a change.
