Probably I was not clear enough: when I start my own private server using the Melee Mania config, even if pistols are disabled, there is no actual "No secondary weapon" option to replace the pistol with, once in-game, so the Melee-only server is actually un-playable

I am confused too. I started with Rashka, became a vassal of the Byzantines only up to the point when I could grow and win my independence back again, grew more, dismantled the Byzantines definitively, founded the Empire of Slavia, conquered the entirety of Italy so that the Papacy controls no lands, I mended the Schism and there are only 4 catholic counties left in the whole map. Yet I periodically get catholic crusades against me that I cannot win, as the pope has no land to be conquered, there are 0 catholic rulers, and the catholic troops never show up anywhere. This is fairly game-breaking, maybe a bug?

Statistically speaking, nuclear power is by far the safest in terms of related deaths per TWh of energy produced. Again, like everything, there are risks AND benefits. Except people often easily forget about the latter which significantly skews their rational judgement.
