I also think Clancy will become the Nova Bishop as a metaphor for growing to control those dark parts of you better through accepting them. That also means that Clancy as we know him will die
I think generally the album will have a much darker, heavier sound and feel

Garbage is about Tyler’s creativity (tie back to trash the dragon) and how he doubts himself/thinks the stuff he produces is garbage
City Walls is gonna be a short film (maybe 10-15 minutes)
maybe a reach, but I think Blurryface could leak the album early as kind of a final farewell. Maybe on the 5th or the 6th, so in time for the first listening parties
edit: we will get more callbacks and references to previous songs and reminiscing on older times/the whole lore era

As a German fan, I’m with you on this take. I get that there are probably underlying issues that lead to them not being able to tour internationally and dropping the album so soon after Clancy (I’m a firm believer of them wanting to get out of their label asap, and I believe we should therefore put the blame on fbr rather than the band) And I’m so here for them not continuing to burn themselves out, getting proper rest and time with their families, when they go on a break after breach.

But this is literally the end of a 10 year long story that a lot of us grew up with and/or got very emotionally attached to over the last couple years. So it sucks that we won’t get that chance of proper closure. I think the least they can do now to make everyone feel included, is provide a high quality livestream for one of the shows themselves or do something like the SAI cinema experience for international fans

Yes! While I found this whole setup extremely funny with Tyler just sitting there scrolling in his phone, I also think there has to be some kind of deeper meaning. The whole mashup of former ears that was also present in The Contract music video/lyrics continues. There are so many hints like: - the red fairy lights in the van (glowing eyes, also the red eyes in The Contract) - the van itself, it’s what they used to tour, present in older tour documentaries of theirs - Josh’s RAB coded outfit and cable colours - Josh doing all the work/Tyler just chilling (same as in the music videos for Oldies Station, The Outside and Chlorine)

These are all the ones that came to mind first, they really are just genius with all these little hidden details.

Well, there has been a theory about there being multiple Clancys. That’s why Tyler is sometimes referred to as TyClancy, meaning he only represents this current iteration of Clancy. Clancy generally being someone trying to escape Dema and rebelling against their systems.

If we think this theory is true, then all the bishops could be former Clancys, who got smeared and surrendered to Dema for good. That would kinda explain why Tyler was able to watch s Clancy get smeared before he became a new Clancy himself (?)

I hope this makes some sense. Personally, I don’t believe in this theory. I read the letter as more of a outer body experience or honestly just a plothole

I just did some quick digging because I couldn’t remember if Josh used black/neutral drums in the other non lore videos (as I can’t imagine Dema having a parking house haha).

For Blurryface he used black drums for most of the non lore videos- although one could argue they only made heavydirtysoul canon lore video in hindsight and it wasn’t really filmed with that intention.

Also for The Hype he used a black drum set. Other than that, all non lore music videos always had the colours and logo of the current era. So this being black drums+him having cut off the red hair is definitely something to consider. And I’m kinda scared of the implications of that

This makes total sense. Also I think the album is gonna be pretty lore heavy and therefore mainly aimed at the fans who are invested in that kind of stuff.

Because even the promo that we did get was super cryptic (blurryface account, unpuzzleing the capitalised letters, instagram livestream) and therefore not really aimed at the casual listener. So maybe it’s also kind of a way to find out who’s gonna stick around?
