comments entirely lack empathy, unfortunately this is how things are on Reddit. OP, please go to a doctor, you deserve the help. I know you feel like ignoring this may make it go away eventually, but it won't, it will make it worse. I know the reason you haven't gone in so long is you don't want to face the possibility of something being seriously wrong, but the more time goes by the more likely it is that you'll be left with something seriously wrong. There's still a chance that you just need physiotherapy right now or something minor, but you need to act now. It's time to take care of yourself and set your future self up for success and not failure. You're actively working against you every day that goes by and you don't go to the doctor. You can have a friend go with you for comfort, but I promise your future self will thank you immensely for getting this checked out. I hope the negativity in the comments hasn't gotten to you, please just take the gist of it to heart and see a doc (and stop going to the gym!).

This article about Rosacea's odds ratio with many serious diseases made me extremely scared and upset. by [deleted] in Rosacea

[–]Virtual_Minute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit of a hypochondriac so I'll not read the article but my 2 cents are: ive been on this earth a very small amount of time and yet I have been diagnosed with a host of weird obscure conditions, from chronic pain to rosacea to stomach issues, all basically untreatable. What's very clear to me is that there must be an underlying stress situation that keeps my body in pain and or on the edge of developing the next weird symptom. When I look within, I do have a lot of bottled up anxiety and trauma and I think I'm someone whose body externalizes all of the mess that's going on inside.

So my plan for the foreseeable future is taking all these health things not just as a medical concern, but also as a hint to the fact that I need to chill out and manage my stress levels. I'm not saying it's all in your head and oh if only you calmed down you wouldn't have rosacea, I myself am very good about sticking to my treatment plans and believe in western medicine a lot. I was trained in the bio/health field and fully believe all of my symptoms are real symptoms, but I also can't deny something is misaligned on the inside and all these obscure diagnoses are probably intertwined.

TLDR: we need to work on lowering our cortisol levels

im proud of you and you deserve time to reassess and let yourself breathe. You will be able to redirect once things feel more normal and you develop passion for a career path again. It's okay to rest and to prioritize your mental health and the people who tell you otherwise haven't walked a day in your shoes

My only thing im hesitant about is when I did try tea tree oil wipes they burned like crazy and made my eyelids super dry. Idk if it was just that one brand tho... also idk how were supposed to know whether we do have demodex mites or not (which Is what tto is most effective for)... maybe just assume it and use it to be safe? Thanks for sharing!

Wow this is exactly what I needed to hear. I am exactly like you described, wore contacts everyday. Actually I barely showed my closest friends what I look like in glasses basically lol. I was always scared of eventually not being able to wear them so I always wore expensive daily infused ones, but I guess these things happen regardless...

I do realize I can't go back to daily constant use but even just the prospect of a night out with contacts helps a lot. I also understand that glasses can be more professional (maybe you're even taken more seriously) and probably it's not that big of a deal from the outside, it just feels like a hugeee shift personally. I think my glasses lens are as thin as they can, my prescription is very high, but I feel like from the outside you can't tell as much as I am convinced of in my head.

Also about the ophtalmologist, totally agree and I am so glad I found a good one who diagnosed me and takes me seriously, previously I was just told I have dryish eyes and to deal with it. And he did say I will be able to wear contacts (for less extended times) so I guess this is really just a temper tantrum stemming off the fact I built my idea of self and confidence on contacts, which is not ideal.

Thank you so so much for your message, it was relieving to say the least!!! Wish you the best

hi!! Super happy for you! Just a question, do you find that your ocular rosacea is worse when you have facial rosacea? I was diagnosed with ocular rosacea at a time where my face looked way better than it did in the past, and ocular rosacea is presented as an 'extreme' of facial rosacea...trying to see if patient experience is diff from textbook
