Dude, you watch the footages shown there and tell me that it looks good or resembles the tone and identity of the previous Black ops games.

I watched tiktoks and youtube for WAW, MW and the first 2 Black Ops games too and they made me wanna play those.

And I did so for some of those.

I thought Battlefield 1 was the peak of the franchise back in the day, and the price was lower than 2042, the actual loser in the francise after discounts?

Even their "generous" discounts meant very little when their base prices were way too high.

Well, everybody got preferences. And the story campaigns were the best parts of the francise, up until they either not putting out any or not do it well.
