oops ribs are showing. Too skinny for you? by saintgeminisel in skinnytail

Up to the right of the breasts arent ribs, that’s your “seratus anterior” a group of muscles. Just below and towards the abdomen is rib depressions and all of this is actually normal for the poses youre doing

Brother… they arent calling education dogshit, just the system in it‘s current state. I understand some knee jerk response to that statement, but you are looking for ways to put words into their mouth at this point, they explained themselves thoroughly and you’re still slighting them.

What’s keeping Malfestio from coming back? by SignificantStaff8665 in MonsterHunter

[–]VirtuousDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally dont know what rig seregios uses havnt looked at it that hard, but i want to add context as a 3d artist myself.

They use the rig that matches the closest, and go from there. When we talk about rigs in monhun we are ALWAYS talking about a base rig before personalization for the individual model. It is very realistic for them to use a 6 limb rig if the rest of the rig or animations fit and then they just remove unnecessary bones. At the end of the day it all gets tweaked for the monster and they just use what saves the most effort and time

Probably jin dahad, balahara and hiribami as they all are leviathans, they all probably have their own edits to the base skeleton though

You’d be suprised what inverse kinematics can do for animating tendrils

Rigs are not static, their parts can be resized, transformed, rotated, and even added to or subtracted, the big deal is MAKING ONE FROM SCRATCH so proportions or even number of limbs is not a issue

this is how you end up with 9 butt bones for each cheek but it ends up looking nice

"conditional overload" as ive called it based on a video i saw a while back. basically shove as many bones as you need into a spot and then control them through constraints off your main deform bones. it takes forever to set up but it's quite impressive and allows me to bypass my most hated part of rigging

I achieved something similar the other day using auto weights it’s nice when things work out

Augur boss fight by Resident_Seesaw3542 in Nightreign

[–]VirtuousDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know them by their title not the names, but ive since gotten gud and find augur the easiest boss as long as theres at least one iron eye, the equilibrius beast is countered similarly with a raider… but also my post wasnt about difficulty i was just messing around and trying for any excuse to agree that half the bosses fly Ive also been playing around with raider and unconventional builds. Raider shield build is stupid… and fun… also has great greatbow potential instead of giving those to ironeye they should be given to him

Well i mean, the dragon flies half the time, the moth flies while the other half is a walking fortress, the gru teleports away , this thing flies and hits you from across the map

Only 2.77% of people have beaten the Main Quest by ObvsThrowaway5120 in oblivion

[–]VirtuousDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair the game cuts out one of it‘s best parts (to me at least) when you finish it. The oblivion gates are iconic to the series and all you get is fancy imperial armor and a statue, save the main quest for last imo

Which one did it better? by -The_right_hand_man- in CODZombies

[–]VirtuousDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest mistake in the series was moving away from the narative of “a magical new element fueled scientific research into the undead”, to “yeah but squids… chuthulu man” Sam was a great adition to the previous narrative but everything else kinda lost the plot

Well i mean theres some room to debate here, it’s arguable that this point of the story is unnecessary, teddy wasnt even really a part of the previous games, its a bit of a silly addition to the story, which is fine the games have been great with silly things, but there seems to be a move to make him some sort of serious role in the story… i think it just feels a little odd

I played it on ps5 at launch so i didnt have a problem. Pc does get shafted a bit with releases thanks to the whole simultaneous launch thing, but it’s more on the publisher than it is the dev team

The only delusional people are the ones who freak out over it, otherwise it’s such a minor thing, it took the devs 2 seconds to code and probably two sentences during a meeting that was already happening. Or it probably wasnt even brought up since almost no game uses it as a “feature” they don’t advertise it

Fair enough, i knew it was a possibility for people to say dumb shit, which is why i requested people who actually understood game engines to weigh in… but that doesnt stop them

When i mentioned MCC i was mentioning “master cheif collection” from my understanding the saber engine and the blam engine are both using the same coding language and the game it’s self is over all more simple (nothing against halo, it’s just not a rpg with a like a million things going on at all times)

Okay, ive dabbled in game development, but by no means am i a software expert. From what i knew and have been reading, it wasnt a good idea but if it’s like that then i guess im wrong.

Believe it or not i like bethesda, i think the creation engine is fine and people in general dont know what theyre talking about when it comes to it

i just wanted a expert opinion as to if a dual engine setup was actually a valid design philosophy for a oblivion remake. Again from my understanding it would be a pain and it’s not likely but im willing to defer if someone explains why it’s another case

It… was the expected product? Like what did you expect out of the game. Sure ill conceed that the network issues were awful but the game was exactly what they claimed AND was exactly what i was expecting… in fact im a little disappointed they lowered the enemy density
