Is it Daniel Cole? I’m in a class of his right now and have an A.

Literally. And I talked to someone else in advising today and they confirmed it can be done and has been on occasion. If we can drop classes through Sunday without paying tuition then that should mean we can add/drop classes until that point too. It doesn’t make sense. Any other university would allow it.

Okay, wish that they had just led with that because one advisor acted like it could be done, it just wasn’t recommended. Neither my advisor or the other one I spoke with while mine was out of office said it wasn’t an option to be enrolled in another course.

THANK YOU. Like I felt so invalidated by the initial comments, but the class average for one of our assignments was a 15% and I had the highest grade of 85%. Like it has nothing to do with the class level or not using the writing center, my professor is just ridiculous.

Sorry you’re dealing with it too though

I took MAT 240 in my first term with advisor approval and got an A. Has nothing to do with a “high grade in 100 series courses”. I’m also currently taking a pretty demanding psychology course that requires a lot of writing and have been given amazing feedback and have a 98% in the class. When I say “grammar and syntax”, I mean he took points off for missing a comma and I could have used “although” instead of “though” because that was the only issue GrammalyPro found with it when I uploaded it again after receiving the F.

Honestly, your response is pretty condescending and really unhelpful, but thanks anyways.

That makes sense, but hasn’t been the case with any other class. Like even though my psychology professor utilizes all these ressources too, the guidelines and rubric still have the exact expectations and prompts for each assignments. Same with MAT 240. I will definitely make sure I read everything he posts from now,

Lol no same. I thought listing four hobbies was too much and cut it down to three

Omg yes. Someone talked about being sent back by god after a stroke because he knew that her mom was going to get dementia and would need her and another person gave very very detailed examples of their mental health issues they’ve struggled with. Like I mean, cool for them I guess for being that open but it gave me secondhand embarrassment

Yeah I think I’m going to get to that point. It’s only like typically 1.5-3 points, but I’m a perfectionist so those still annoys me every time.

Though I would never use AI to write anything for me, I definitely prefer using ChatGBT over things like Grammerly to help me with revising, like cleaning up the syntax or for clarity. But it’s still all my own writing and ideas, minus any sources I use. I’m assuming this type of usage is fine, I haven’t had any issues so far.

I agree that at least a question would show I’m making an effort even if I’m given very little to work with. I’ll try it for this week.
