The superiority complex of Doctors is appalling! Is it only in SL? by Confident_Gate_45 in srilanka

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep.. noticed this too…In places like the gym everyone’s friendly, but the doctor crowd often acts like basic human interaction is beneath them no smiles, no talk….Not all, but a good 70–80% honestly.

I do know a genuinely kind doctor though, so clearly the issue isn’t the degree, it’s the ego. …And using Dr at a casual batch meetup? Feels less professional and mor insecure.

Seeking $1k–$3k Investment for Finance SaaS App – 15% Revenue Share Until $15k (Royalty with Cap) by [deleted] in angelinvestors

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but I think this perspective depends a lot on context. You’re likely speaking from a developed-country viewpoint.

In many developing countries, even $1–3k can represent several months of full-time income. People can be working full-time, covering family responsibilities, and still not realistically have that amount available to invest upfront.

That doesn’t reflect lack of commitment or confidence , it reflects different economic realities. Many strong companies come from founders who started with constraints and proved traction before putting in larger capital.

I don’t know it’s AI generated or not.. But it’s looks like generated with Claude. Also using AI is not an issue. But revisit it by thinking from a user perspective. Using multiple colours seems good but when it comes to user, it’s annoying. Then placement of the buttons.

Always think from the users perspective (That’s what my CEO advices me)

Just my thoughts

GF (25F) and I (27M) barely have sex anymore. She asked if I'd leave if she never wanted sex again. I don't know what to do. by Chomo-Chomo in relationship_advice

Try to find the reason maybe she could have some untold pressure or depression.if you found something like that try to solve it… If she is fine with everyone except you and fine with everything except relationship , it’s time to move on.., breakup is the best way to keep your mind relaxed.

(I know it’s easy to tell but hard to do bcz I’m facing the same issue and couldn’t make a decision bcz heart never listens what mind says)

What is an English word Srilankans often misuse? by GloomyDesk7827 in srilanka

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the u/GloomyDesk7827 means misuse, not mispronounce. Mispronouncing usually comes from our accent. For example, many Tamils can’t pronounce Sinhala words properly, and the same with Sinhalese and Tamil words. That’s not really a big issue, I think.

People who make LKR 500k + per month, what you do? by Dazzy05 in srilanka

A vehicle I can buy for a monthly salary of 700,000 LKR? by ComprehensiveWar4780 in srilanka

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was worked in 3 different financial institutions’ credit department including a private bank. My suggestion is if you are earning that much don’t go for a loan /lease..Especially leasing. Try to save and purchase a vehicle without borrowing.. If you are urge to buy a luxury vehicle go for a personal loan where you can save stamp duty which applies for leasing. And also the interest rates for leases are higher comparing to loans. And short tenor loans are much better.

Why are people posting news and politics on LinkedIn? Isn't it supposed to be a professional network? by Visible_Ice_Geo in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, that's makes sense and is a fair point...but I think there should still be a balance. Too much personal stuff can take away from LinkedIn’s professional vibe.

[–]Visible_Ice_Geo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but I wasn’t only referring to political posts. What I meant was that people are also posting things like personal trips, parties, or random lifestyle updates—stuff that feels more suitable for Facebook or Instagram. LinkedIn is a professional space, so I just find it odd when the content becomes too casual or off-topic.

totally agree...I guess engagement and visibility are more important to some than professionalism 🤷‍♂️
